We can also do strongman walks and use it as a fat bar exercise for various lifts. The only downside I see is you have to have a wide stance with this apparatus. Tell me what you think.
Since you brought them up. I really love the zerchers. I’ll bet half the guys doing them on you tube are pro highland athletes. When I started visiting some of the highland sites I noticed none of the mortals (non-pros) had them in their workouts or only did them occasionally. What, I queried? The reply was basically. "do you have a job? Zerchers are great for the caber and pros got time to devote to them. Most people do lifts more applicable to overall throwing.
Glad you like them. Story has nothing to do with your lifting, you just gave me an opening to tell it. Get back to work.
people don’t do zerchers becuase they are hard, you can’t breath… basically they suck. in a good way. i tell people all the time- “get good at zerchers and front squats” if you can do that, you’ll never complain that squats are hard again.
Harry, your stories are always welcome. You could tell a story about anything and make it interesting. Some of those guys on youtube are zerchering well over 500.
Scott, I’m liking front squats and zerchers more and more. I’m just disappointed I didn’t start doing them ten years ago.

Truth.
I always feel like someone punched me in the gut after a good day of Z’s or F.Squats.
12/11
axle clean 105x3,155x3,195x1
squat 385x3,440x3,500x6
front squat 225x3,315x3,405x1
ab roll 3 sets
The axle cleans are tough as hell. You can’t snap your wrists at the top. Almost killed myself with 195. I use knee wraps and belt squating 500. I video taped it. Get it on here at some point.

Damn youngster! dats some squatin’!
Yeah. No kidding. I walked out 500# for the 1st time, last week. I dared not bend my knees

405 on front squats… damn… i guess i have to move up in weight next week…
bastard:)
Scott, I know it won’t last long but it felt good using a weight you actually workout with. You’ll soon make me feel weak and insignificant again soon.

i think you really underestimate yourself. if you had a serious group of lifters to lift with you would be giving me a run for my money on everything.
I also think we have different priorities. my main goal is getting stronger at the big three. you appear to have more of an interest in body comp. work… not that there’s anything wrong with that:)
