I would say my Legs and lower back. I squat 315lbs with good form for 4-6 reps depending on how I feel, but I feel I should be able to do more. This guy at my gym did the same weight for 40 reps and I wanted to give up squating after I witness that.
That’s impressive in several ways. I think 135 for 40 reps would be tough. Even with 225 40 reps would be impressive. With 315 that’s pretty bad ass.
I’m at 81 reps atm with 135 (check the hungarian oak link) and i’ll be honest once you hit that 30 rep point your startin to feel it… doing 40 at 315… wow is all i can say… Its a whole different strength/endurance phase after 15-20.
I also cant imagine the strain/work on the back/shoulder to support that for 40 reps… i know my back is feeling it at 65+ reps but thats again with 135. Kudo’s to the guy doing 315 40x’s

I remember Dan John writing about a challenge (bet was more like it, I think) he undertook in his younger days to get 30 squats with 315. I think he missed it by 5. The point being that it’s (very) difficult, but possible.

I cannot even pity you.
You’re spreading ignorance and illiteracy.
Well done.
Thats a pretty interesting comment Schwarzfahrer.
By saying I’m helping to spread illiteracy do you realize the number of people who have learned English due to churchs using the bible as a source for them to read? I’m sure in our society today teaching anyone to read more must help drive up the illiteracy rate also.
Ignorance? I’d enjoy knowing what great strides into the world of ignorance that I am spreading also. Doing mission trips, helping the less fortunate, learning to care about others vs just ourselves. Sounds like something terrible that should be sqaushed from society.
As far as pity I look for none. I live a life filled with joy. My beliefs give me a hope where most people live their life one moment to the next. I believe in a future beyond tomorrow where most prefer not to look past tomorrow because they fear death.
Without hijacking a thread from its original purpose i’d gladly respond to any private messages so as not to turn this into a ‘your beliefs suck’ back and forth dialog.

That is just stupid. Just plain stupid… Well, by stupid I mean damn that took a lot of work, focus, determination, effort, consistency, etc., and I am envious. That kinda stupid.
Others, I know, are going to ask, so what do his legs (sic) look like?
Can I pre-answer, “what the fuck does it matter?”

I couldn’t beleive it myself, but I was in the squat rack next to him counting them out with his training partner. He was going pretty low with each rep. He was moving the 315 like it was 135. He struggle on his last 10, but he pulled it off. THe guy shoulders and back are impressive. He is one of the PT at the gym. I think he said he weight was between 185-190. He is about 5"7".
