Your Hobbies, Other Than Lifting?

There’s got to be some other UE people on this site. Here’s a pic from the Parisian underground, if anyone knows what that is:

Which one of you in the picture supposedly works out?

The wine bottle?

that’d be me from my swimming days on the bottom right.

I wasn’t aware this was the ‘rate my physique’ forum.

Does planning global domination count as a hobby?

sports, movies, video games, clubbn

salsa dancing, reading, improv sometimes

Personally, I enjoy reading New Age books, which lull me into a false sense of security that the world is benevolent, while masturbating and subsequently ejaculating into a used Folgers Tin Can stuffed with cotton.

Yes, it does. That’s a secret hobby of mine.

Hmmmm. Will we be competitors or partners?

I’m more than willing to collaborate if our plans are on the same page.

Sorry, peeps, but I conquered the world in 1986. Remember “Crisis on Infinite Earths?” That was my cover.

Scuba Diving, Mountain Climbing/Hiking if you can call it that more like rolling up 3 feet and down 10, traveling, fixing and restoring cars, and wood working.

skiing… which makes it extra hard to gain strength in the winter months because it burns so many calories!

I’ve got some weird hobbies. At least people tell me there are anyway…

1.) Homebrewing. Started off several years ago with some crappy mail order kit, since then I have probably made 1000-1500 liters of beer. A few have won awards at homebrewing competitions. Most have turned out very well, a few have bombed (usually when I tried to get too creative)

2.) Mushroom growing. Yes, the illegal ones in my younger days, but recently I’ve tackled the culinary ones, which are actually more challenging in some respects. I like to cook with mushrooms so its nice to be able to snip some off and use them whenever I need.

  1. Teleplay writing. I have written a ton of spec scripts for TV. None have been sold, but one got optioned, and that was enough to keep me writing. I think I’d do much better writing my own show but unfortunately starting your own pilot from the get-go is nearly impossible (few exceptions though…the South Park guys for instance).

Cool thread. I’m a painter. More job than hobby, but I love doing it. Can’t make a living at it - but it’s a nice second income. I specialize in animal portraiture, particulary K-9. Here is a pastel, “Sinking Shamu” done recently.

I love it!

I love reading, writing, and meddling. For physical stuff, running, hiking, and mountain biking, which I do very little of recently. Hm, what else? I like pretty much any creative endeavor in short doses. Writing, I can and do sustain. And I can maintain a good meddle for years at a time. LOL

TexasGuy, I don’t think I asked about you anywhere, but maybe. I definitely noticed your absence.

I like to paint too but I couldn’t make a dime on it

At times I’m more into electronics, gadgets and generally nerdy pastimes at other times I’m more into backpacking, paddling, art and photography. My hobbies are in constant rotation with some common recurring themes.

Yeah, I’ve been pretty busy. They moniter internet use at work and I don’t get on too much. I miss my old college freedoms. Allowing laptops in class is the greatest idea ever.

Things I’d like to get into:

  1. Shooting/pistol range. never done it.

  2. Gardening. Don’t laugh, I’d love to get into growing corn, tomatos, etc.

Things I already do:

  1. Mountain biking. I’ve won a few races in the past few years in the Clydesdale class, and still try to ride once a week.

  2. Flag football, basketball, and softball. Play them year 'round

  3. Video games - I love 'em. Gears of War-2 is coming out, and I can’t wait. Currently playing Star Wars: Force Unleashed, great game.

  4. Comic books- still read them pretty regularly with my 3 sons.

  5. Star Wars and LOTR.

Yes, I’m a nerd. But I’m a big strong fast nerd, so I have nothing to worry about.

Shooting is a lot of fun. Look in to sporting clays for a challenge, it’s kind of an adapted version of skeet shooting, more like hunting scenarios. Better than golf.
