Your Hobbies, Other Than Lifting?

Read a lot, trying to write a novel (actually three novels), volunteer firefighter and first responder (ECA), fish a lot in the spring and generally spend a lot of time with my wife and kids so will continue to have a wife and kids for many years in the future.

I remember someone was asking about you in another thread.

If that’s not you, uh, I don’t do much else.
Yep. I graduated and had to shave to find a respectable job.

What other thread?

I dig guitar and pretty much anything outdoors myself.

That is a big sumbitch (the fish, I mean).

I read alot. My tastes are pretty much all over the place, but Heartbreak Hill by Thomas Cooke and the Amber series by Zelazny are among my favorites. I also read random books about whatever subject in which I happen to have an interest that week.

I also write (or at least poorly attempt to write) nearly every day (if my girl will leave me alone). Any other writers on here?

I also spend alot of time looking up things I don’t know. I like dictionaries and Encyclopedias alot.
He was fun to catch, I have him posing next to a normal sized snapper and even that one is on the large end of average. 36". Would win tournaments. Of course, there are much bigger species in the sea.

Fox Network, baby.

I am also in the middle of writing a novel. The hardest part is getting people to leave me alone so I can write.

Agreed. Finding the time to sit down with no distractions and bang the words out is a challenge. I’ve started lifting in the mornings before work so I have time for that, considering staying up later at night to write, but I really like 7 hours of sleep a night.

I like reading, cooking (healthy and not so healthy), photography, and traveling.

I finally had to sit down with my girl and explain to her that I need at least 1 hour at the end of the day where she leaves me alone. I am finally making some progress. I don’t know if this novel will be good, or even publishable, but by God it is going to get finished.

I can’t imagine finding the time to write if I had children. Also, for some reason, it takes me ten to twenty minutes usually to get in the groove, and one little ditraction throws me completely off. I’m about to push for an extra hour.

I’ve got a 30 minute drive to work and have seriously considered recording what I want writen then getting someone who can type a hell of a lot faster than me to transcribe it.

If the damn voice typing or transcription software were better I’d try that.

Got everything back to normal from Ike yet?

Oh, yeah. Everything around here is pretty much back to normal, except for a few traffic lights that are still out.

I hear some people still do not have power, though Centerpoint has repaired all the lines. Supposedly these isolated cases are do to specific damage to individual homes, not the power grid.

All that occured at my house, thankfully, was a downed section of fence and a big tree-limb in the front yard. Plus there was a dead baby squirrel in my back yard that I had to bury.

It’s funny you mention the voice recorder, because I was considering buying one for that purpose. Also, because I tend to have bursts of creativity in random situations where writing something down is not an option.

I also thought it might be a good role-play tool for developing more natural dialogue between characters. It’s just a theory, but it’s probably worth a try.

Killing paper at the shooting range. Getting kinda tough though in this communist province.

Vote Conservative! haha

I’ve written a couple of short stories, nothing published though. I would love to actually sit and write a novel, but like you have said, time and distractions keep me from doing it.

Audio production, programming, neuroscience.

I like video games but I try to stay away from them because they are kind of a waste of time.

Got any of your stuff anywhere to listen to? My girl loves house music.

Working on my house (just finished remodeling my bathroom - the office is next), fishing, hanging out with my kids, and watching copious amounts of sports.

trap and skeet, swimming, and urban exploration.

There’s got to be some other UE people on this site. Here’s a pic from the Parisian underground, if anyone knows what that is:

Which one of you in the picture supposedly works out?

The wine bottle?

Ever play Star Wars Miniatures or the RPG? I used to play both in JR high; they were really fun.

If if thinking of the right games, then I never tried either. I was never much for either type.

Comics, video games (mostly 2d, some 3d, fighters), martial arts, Warhammer 40k (starting in on the game, read the books), any type of books.
