Push those knees out big time man,it’ll help a lot.

Yeah man, I can tell the knees buckling are really holding me back. Idk really how to fix it. Just actively think about it? or is it an indication I’m weak some where?
Great effort on the 20 rep set.
I think we have the same form breakdown in our heaviest sets of squats.

Thanks man. Yeah, form is solid until I seem to get around 85% of my max, then it gets not so pretty. Any particular way you’re going about fixing it?
Putting up some progress pictures. You can see my shitty fat distribution and lack of posing. lol. Also, sorry that most of these are in my little sister’s room only place I had to go. lol. Also, these are all after the aforementioned leg workout, so I can’t flex my quads for anything, so I didn’t bother. lol.

Back. Sorry, I have a large donk, it eats all my underwear often. lol
As you can see, I’m at such an awkward bf% right now. Even at much fatter, I’ve have a solid outline of abs since about age 10, just never carry too much fat there. But my hips/lower back… will be the death of me. Along with an inability to even flex my lats adequately, kills my taper. lol. I do have a ‘smaller’ waist though, just crappy hips.
So I’d like to lose that last bit, but don’t want to sacrifice my strength gains right now. I’m on a role I feel, and don’t want to ruin that. I feel I’d have to get REAL lean to get rid of the love handles though, so I don’t know what to do.

Could be weak hip abductors. It is something that used to happen to me and then it eventually stopped. I am always very aware of starting the squat with the hip moving back, knees pushed out and I kind picture it like I’d squat down to take a shit…you wouldn’t be able to shit with your knees bent in…
If anything I’d rather see you lighten the load a bit, get the form down and work back up, might help…you can definitely get in some abductor exercises too on leg/deadlift day. Foam roll if they’re tight.

Nothing that’s worked all that well so far, lol. I think like Austin said need to keep it lighter and work back up, cause I know every time I do a shitty rep it’s just reinforcing that. I plan on doing more sets, not as close to failure, so that I can keep form tight on every rep.
As far as the pics, progress made, nice job. I def feel ya on the wide hips. I’d suggest practicing your lat spread a lot, just because it should help developing a better mmc. You shouldn’t be hunching forward like that… think about how a lat spread looks from the front, and really think about spreading your scapula as you do it. Have a gander at that video posted in zraw’s contest thread, to be honest I haven’t watched near the whole thing but it’s a great video for posing tips.

Alright I’ll give that stuff a try. Maybe try some abduction activation stuff on my off days. I think I need to widen my stance just a bit as well. Thanks.

Yea I think I may do just that, more sets with a lighter weight to really get my form down.
The wide hips, I feel I may start making a more ‘direct’ effort to lean up, instead of just letting it happen like it has. The love handles bug the hell out of me, and I may start lowering carbs a bit, seeing if I can get them gone without killing my strength gains.
The posing, yeah. I try to actively flex them often, but ‘spreading’ them is weird for me. I also have a funky left scapula, so that makes it weird too. Actually, watching that vid was what got me to try the posing today, though I only watched like 20 minutes of it. lol

One thing I’ve heard suggested for this is wrap a band around your knees on your lighter sets of squats (or even just with BW) so you can get used to forcing them out. I have the same issue but just actively thinking about it seems to help
I was watching the insanity infomercial this morning, idk why, but i watched for about 20 minutes and saw the testimonials. It’s like a home workout P90x spin off if you didn’t know…
Anyways I am always self critical as fuck over my physique and when I looked at these people on TV it just dawned on me that I am not the fat guy I used to be, I was bigger than everyone and leaner than most. I also always felt like I had tilted hips and saw people with much worse and began to feel normal and good.
So my point…you really don’t have love handles bud, we all can be so self critical, spend some time to get rid of them but don’t let it “bug” you even if it is on your mind. You’re looking lean, posing needs work but it’s something I have a problem with too, thank God we don’t have to pose in public (besides the occasional bicep flex) much.
I would just focus on getting in the cals, beefing up, but continuing cardio and what not to remain lean.
And yeah widen that squat stance.

Definitely agree with this. You’ve got a good solid program to make progress on, you don’t want to short-change your potential muscle gains.
Thanks guys, means a lot coming from guys at your levels. I think that probably is the best solution, just keep doing what I’m doing, and slowly I’ll probably acquire the physique I want. lol Thanks for taking some sense into me.
have you been sneaking swole powder? lol
