yay

Well solid benching, one thing I see you doing that I have trouble with is keeping your pelvis tilted toward the bench, I need more flexibility, hopefully your foam rolling tip will help. How tall are you dude?

Yeah, actually it was your tip of angling my hips down that really made everything ‘click’ for me regarding form. lol. But yeah, the foam rolling is what allows me to do that without my back wanting to cramp.

I’m 6’2.5" last time I got measured. But I’m all arms and legs, pretty short torso.

Looking good spidey.

I like watching videos of you working out. I think you should do a video atleast once every week.

Gkeeper: Thanks man. Yeah, figured you’d prefer the music. lol

Bird: Thanks man. I’ll try to get a video of my Bench, Squats, and Deadlifts every week.

Deadlift/Back/Hams

Sumo Deadlift: Everything felt good today. Got my work sets in, decided I go for a quick single with 415. Was going up easy, but midway, I got light headed, started shaking, and started blacking out. I dropped the weight and just sat down. I was mad, because I def could have locked it out, but decided to listen to my body and not do it again. Twice in the last week I’ve blacked out or nearly did… Maybe I’m wearing my belt too tight? Idk
305x2
325x2
345x2
365x2
385x2 ← felt easy. Video
415xF ← so weird, but happy I know I COULD get it.

Pullups: Felt good. May be pausing too long at the bottom. Kills my lats though
BWx5
+15x5
+25x6
BWx9

Kroc Rows: Grip is definitely catching up now. These finished my back and forearms off nicely
85x25 LR

Single Leg Curls: Regular one was taken, so did these. Felt ok, not as good though
40x5
50x5
60x5
70x7

Single Leg Press: HUGE hammy and glute pump
240x5
260x5
280x8

Speed Squats: Getting faster and tighter
185x5x2

Calves

Good workout today. The nearly passing out thing is kind of freaking me out, but I may just need to eat a bit more before lifting. Solid workout though, entire back side of my body is trashed.

I’m getting noticeably leaner. A few sessions of morning cardio a week + the 2 low carb days are helping tighten up the waist area, so happy about that. I tried on some pants i haven’t worn in forever, and they aren’t even close to fitting around my waist like they use too. I think that’s why my Squat, which I was doing awesome with, has kind of felt funky lately. I think my waist getting smaller has kind of thrown off my form, but I’m not complaining. lol. I can adjust. lol

Not the greatest angle but DL form looks much better since switching to sumo. Bench looks solid too, excited for upcoming gains!

Need to figure out that almost-fainting thing tho, last thing you want is to faint during a set of squats.

Deads looked solid. I’d start with some lighter singles closer to that 90% 2 rep set, like if you did 385, hit 400 and if that was easy go up from there…then the week after 405 etc., etc. (I often times should take my own advice cause I was doing some retarded shit deadlifting today)

And I could never get into sumos and always blamed my long legs, but I guess you ruin that idea that it was my legs causing my to suck lol. Maybe it’s the same hip mobility issues that give me benching problems.

Thanks man. Form feels pretty good, but next time I’ll try a different angle. Foam rolling the shit out of my lower back before all my big movements has tremendously helped.

Yeah, i really don’t know what it is. I obviously take a big breath during lifts, but I can only assume maybe I need to eat a bit more before lifting or something. This happened about a year ago, except it was accompanied by exertion headaches. Just went away though. I’ll figure it out. lol

Yeah, I got 405 easy last week, so I thought this was in the bag. 415 was easy, just I pushed a little to hard and got light headed. I probably do need to do lighter singles though, going for a BIG max every week will just burn me out. lol

I honestly just switched to sumo because it’s easier to keep my back arched, and I’ve always had strong glutes/hamstrings, so I figured that would equate to bigger numbers. I do think a lot of foam rolling of my hips/lower back has helped tremendously though.

Nice deadlifting.

I black out pretty frequently during lifting - as in, my vision goes black and I can’t see shit till the set ends. But I never feel like I’m going to faint. But then I’m also not over 9,000 feet tall.

Thanks broski. But yeah, that’s happened before. But this new sensation includes light-headedness and Jello legs. lol.

Ohh, and I’m only 8,500 feet tall, thank you very much

Been doing the CT arm protocol, and it seems my arms have been improving, so with all this down time i have, I’ll be giving this a shot as well.

Was able to get a 100-rep set on my first try, but it was hard. lol. Let’s see if my non existent calves can get something resembling growth. lol

6/15/12

Chest/Shoulders/Triceps

Paused Speed Bench: Stayed tight, focused on really utilizing leg drive and my lats
130x2x10

Pec Deck: ooooohhhhh daddy
95x10
110x10
125x16

Seated Pin Presses: These were tough. Was mad after only hitting 3 for my first attempt with 120, so went for it again and did better. lol
90x5
100x5
110x5
120x3,4

Dips: HS Dips were taken, and so was the weight belt… FML. Did just BW, but figured out a way to do them that didn’t pump my traps, so that’s good
BWx11,7,6,5,5

DB Shrugs: Big pause at the top
65’sx12
80’sx12
90’sx12

Good workout. Good pump in my pressing muscles. Felt awesome.

Having some hard family issues… Mother may be dealing with potential cancer, on Father’s Day weekend none the less, which is a constant reminder of my Dad who died almost 10 years now. Not a good thing to think about while your other parent’s health is in question. lol. Trying to stay positive and praying a lot, but definitely trying to let the gym be a stress reliever for me.

Sorry to hear all that man. I’ve been through quite a lot this past year and can relate. It’s hard but you just need to realize that you can’t control everything that happens, but you can always stay positive and be supportive to those that need you most.

I’ll keep your mother in my prayers. I hope she is fine and thankfully we live in a time that can easily diagnose and treat all sorts of medical problems effectively. Keep the faith man.

I sympathize with your situation. I can relate. You’ll get through this.

Sorry to hear about that man, stay strong.

Thanks guys. It’s really appreciated. 6 months ago something like this would have buried me in doubts, but luckily I had my first ever religious experience a few months ago, and it’s really allowed me to handle hardships a lot better. It’s great to have people that care and can relate ,though, so thanks again.

Legs

Back Squats: Miscalculated, ended up do about 10 more pounds then I was suppose to on the top set, but still got it, though it was ugly. Definitely need to take my time with these. I don’t rest enough between sets, and it hurts me I think.
220x2
240x2
255x2
275x2
290x2

Widowmaker: Decided for Father’s Days, I’d do something for my deceased Dad. I’m 20 years old, so never better to do a 20-rep set for every year of life I’ve tried to make him proud. Reps got ugly though. lol
225x20

Paused Front Squats: Was DEAD after the WM set, but still felt good. Hopefully this will help staying tight in the hole
135x5
155x5
175x3 <— bleh

Bulgarian Split Squat: Just to make sure I sufficiently hate myself
95x5
115x5
135x9

Great workout. Felt like death. Need to pace myself better during Squats. I get to amped up and ended up doing my 5 working sets with 3-4 sets of warm-ups all in about 10 minutes… need to space that out a bit. WM set was awesome, brought a lot of intensity to the set. Workouts like these are what help me get through my darker times.
