Hell people don’t seem to like Jake but Jarhead would be up there in my list of favourite movies. Additionally, The Shawshank Redemption and Collateral are probably my top two contenders

I would’ve liked Donnie Darko except that both the Gylenhalls were in it … that’s like a vortex of suck right there … The level of awesomeness that was the Dark Knight was almost off-set to me by the level of suck of Maggie Gylenhall; I wouldn’t have watched it if the previous one wasn’t so damn awesome.
I think they should make another movie together (the Gylenhalls) and, while on-set, a horrific accident maims and disfigures them both (only them … kind of like a concentrated fire that engulfs only them) … I think I would sleep a little better at night if that happened
I started hating them around the time Jarhead came out. I remember Maggie spouting off about shit she has no business talking to the media about; you know just being a pretentious hollywood B-lister with her ugly half-Down Syndrome face. I actually feel bad associating her with Downs Syndrome; I think people with Downs are some of the kindest people out there and Maggie’s just a horrificly ugly bitch.
I really don’t have much against Jake except that he shares genes with Maggie and he hasn’t smothered her with a pillow yet. In my book that makes him an accomplice to her shittiness. Plus I think he’s a shit actor. Although I laughed at bubble boy. Until I saw it again. Then I realized it sucked.
Sorry for the rant, I just hate those fuckers. Particularly Maggie, but I’m not giving Jake a pass…
Maggie Gylenhall is, without a shadow of a doubt, the single ugliest “hot chick” I’ve ever seen. And she’s not just ugly with regards to good-looking women. She’s just ugly. Put her in a room with a bunch of 5s and she would stand out…as the ugly one in the room. As for her brother, well, he’s just awful as the lead. Donnie Darko is the only exception, and it’s probably because his dry, aloof personality fits the role perfectly. But kill me if I ever have to see Prince of Persia.
I hope this turns into a I hate Maggie Gylenhaal-fest.
Gotta credit Nards for using this pic to describe her in another thread.

this was my #2 pick.
“i shot marvin in the face” was the hardest i had ever laughed at a movie.
American Beauty
Or The Guardian if Ashton Kutcher wasn’t in it

HA! You’d be hard-pressed to convince me that isn’t actually her…
And just so I’m actually contributing something to the thread: American History X.

Brave Heart my all time favorite. Check out Righteous Kill… i’d say more but a lot of them have already been said here.
It’s a wonderful life.

For me - The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
and…
Air Force One… just kidding, but seriously that movie is badass.
Yes, really. Like I said, it moved me. Quit hatin! j/k. I’ve actually got a pretty decent list of movies. Another that stands out for me is Hoodlum. That movie was just pure badassery. American Psycho holds a cold place in my heart. Here’s a few more on my list, and in my collection:
Roadhouse
Next of Kin
Neverending Story
Kids
Last House On The Left (new one)
Let The Right One In
Vision Quest
Posse
Die Hard
Ace Ventura
Dumb and Dumber

The Depa’ted
Fight Club
The Big Lebowski
Tango & Cash - The greatest movie ever made that does not have Arnold in it.
Arnold:
Pumping Iron
Predator
Commando
Terminator 1 & 2
Twins
Non-Arnold (or T&C):
Unforgiven
Goodfellas
Gladiator
Rocky 4
Rambo 4
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Clockwork Orange
The Departed
*Honorable mention - American History X and The Cross of Iron
People need to read the thread title. It says favorite MOVIE, not plural, stop putting down lists of your top flicks. Pick ONE and stick to it.
Schindler’s list. I spent 15 minutes on my sofa without moving after watching it.
Also:
The Holy Grail
2001: A Space Oddissey
Life of Brian (In my opinion de most quotable movie ever)
