Elbow problems keep me at the EZ curl bar now, but the most imprssive curl is what used to be called gladiator curls, Oly bar, wide grip. If you can get it with a 45 on each side, you will draw some looks.
Pat: The “Spider Bench” (made popular back-in-the-day by Vince Gironda and Larry Scott),is a bench that is in the shape of a cross, and that sits at a slight incline. You lay on it, stomach down, with your arms hanging over the top of the “cross” much like a Preacher Bench (the name comes from how one looks while laying stomach down on the bench).
The affect (much like Lat Machine Overhead Curls) is to isolate the underlying brachialis muscle by taking the biceps “out” of the curl movement. This adds “lift” to the biceps area. Some feel that direct brachialis work is also important for maximizing whatever genetic “peak” we may have to our biceps.
Put in a search and you can see a Spider bench on Larry Scott’s site. Hope this helps!
