Well is here something I have often struggled with. Love to party and enjoy life, but health is important to me as well. I’m a pretty lazy cook and would rather eat out for simple conveinance.
Through the advice of T-Mag and most importantly the forum I got ripped up a few months ago. I was eating clean and lifting like it was religion. I dropped 25 lbs in 2.5 months and got myself to 7% BF at 175 lbs. I was not a monster but I liked being lean and doing laundry on my abs.
Here’s the situation. I dropped the weight for a fight and after my match I told myself, REWARD TIME! I don’t live far from a Krispy Kreme, all pizza places deliver and I would do almost anything for a Whooper. I told myself, binge and get it out of your system for 3 or 4 days and jump right back into clean living again. Well that 3-4 days turned into about 2.5 months.
As of the past month or so, in order to save the ever elusive dollar and to get rid of some of the lard I put on I started cooking again and lifting regularly. At the gym where I spar I’m usually in a T-shirt but the other week I wore a “wife beater” (sorry but tank-top on a guy sounds funny to me) I got several comments on how I was getting bigger and leaning out, etc. So I kicked it into high gear and plan on staying the course.
The way I’m doing it is, yes this is stupid, eating pretty much the same thing everyday. It’s quick, it’s easy and I already know my P/C/F breakdown for the day. As expected I am getting sick of it but plan on forging ahead. I looked at some previous posts about foods, recipes, etc. I’m still looking for new things. We all know you could bread and deep fry a turd and it would taste fine in some marinara sauce but I have sworn off eating like shit (I’m not sure if a pun was intended)
What are some of the more creative and EASY things you eat. Any info that “spices” up the healthy food that we eat is great. What are some of the staples of your diet….I don’t mean, “Cottage cheese, oatmeal, chicken breast” I mean, how do you prepare it, what is everything on your plate when you sit down to watch The Simpsons?
To quote Cam Britwell in a post awhile back, “Nothing tastes as good as being ripped feels”
