Your Body Structure Influences The Optimal Exercises Strategy… Part 2

Let’s move on to the impact of limb length on upper-body muscle development.

KEEP IN MIND THAT LIMB LENGTH IS RELATIVE TO TORSO LENGTH. You could be a short person with “long limbs” and vice versa.

This is interesting. I’m a long limb person and I think a long torso as well and my chest is the hardest to grow.

Is there measurements for limbs and torso to determine if they are long or short?

You cannot be long-limbed and have a long torso. It’s a ratio. So if your torso is long, it represents a large proportion of your height, so your legs cannot be “long” relative to your torso.

You CAN have a long torso, short legs and long arms though.

I think there was an article on here our your website thibarmy talking about figuring out if you are long limbed or not. I’ll try to find that and see where I fall. Thanks for the reply!

There is also one on T Nation by Tom Sheppard, who is my head coach.

Great video coach.
I am 75" tall with a 76" wingspan (average per the article above) and a 32" inseam (short for my height).
