Japan started the war. Therefore japan is responsible for any and all deaths resulting from that war. As to “civilian” - what does that mean? The Japanese culture of the day was a warrior culture. Where do you think soldiers come from? Civilians. Where does the food, clothing, weapons and other implements of war come from? Civilians. That’s right - civilians are an important part of any war making machine so to say it is unethical to target them is both illogical and foolish. The war would have never ended had we only targeted military targets; especially against a warrior culture like the Japanese.

Plus - had we not used the bomb more people would have died on BOTH sides than died in the bomb in the invasion of mainland Japan. In addition to that, atomic bombs are no more gruesome in their affects to the human body than any other type of bomb; do think the casualties from the Tokyo firebombing fared any better than those in Nagasaki and Hiroshima…get educated you fool.

Yep, exactly.

So, if thats your way of justifying Hiroshima, then 9/11 is also justifiable since the US has been butting their noses into Middle Eastern affairs for ages.

You my friend need some mental fucking help.

It’s one thing to fight a known enemy it’s another to fight a coward who attacks people unexpectadely and than is know where to be found. Because the US does not support the Muslim Countries in the middle east wiping Isreal off the face of the map does not mean we should be attacked. Because the US helps countries in need and does no support the extinction of entire religious groups or of an entire people does not justify us being attacked on 9/11. Because the US has superior technology and a more intelligent and fair Governmental system than the whole world does not justify terrorist atacks.

Go fuck yourself in the ass with a cactus you pussy.

The Japanese tried to surrender for months, but on condition that the Emperor stay in power, The USA weren’t down with that. The fucked up thing is that after dropping the bombs, they decide he should stay in power anyway…

The bomb didn’t even have anything to do with defeating the Japs, they had already had their ass handed to them in China by the Russians. The USA just wanted to show the Russians how big their balls were so they knew not to fuck with them after the war, and also deter them from taking over a ravaged Europe.

Also, the Nagasaki bombing was one of history’s saddest ironies. Originally Kyoto had been earmarked for the bomb, but the head of allied bombing command had visited it and thought it should be preserved, so crossed it off the list and put Nagasaki on instead. Nagasaki had, for 400 years or so, been the only open port in Japan, so was home to the only Christian community in the country and mostly opposed to the war. On the day of the bombing, cloud cover obscured the original target and the plane turned back for home. It flew over Nagasaki, there was a gap in the clouds and they dropped the bomb, right on top of the biggest cathedral in Asia, completely wiping out the Christian part of the city.

Sadly most of history is full of ironies and isn’t always the way its taught to kids in school as one side bad one side good.
austin_bicep wrote:
I also have to say we warned them for weeks dropping letters out of plains to let the people know what was going to happen if they did not surrender.

My grandfather used to drive boats filled with infantry men and drop them off on islands in the pacific so they could fight the Japanese and he said there were many times where all the soldiers he dropped off never came back when it was time for him to pick them up. It wouldve been much worse for our soldiers if we took the approach of sending them into battle on japans mainland rather than dropping the bomb. We saved many thousands of American lives.
Regardless of what your grandfather said, the lives of those Japanese were no less valuable than the lives of the American soldiers that weren’t killed as a result of the bombings.

Oh? and are they in the Congo ‘helping’ there? oh, and as for the US having never interfered in the Middle East you may want to look into that one

Not to start a fight, but what has Canada ever done for anyone in the world?
Serious question. Someone enlighten me.

Edit: To the above poster, we may be from a more significant country, but what makes you or me as individuals any more significant than him?

they try to act like, their morally superior to us. I will not stand for it. Not from external enemies or internal ones. They attack out great nation time after time, they must be confronted

I was commenting on how history goes deeper than it appears(i haven’t looked up the christian part thought), for example the US role in how Cuba is the way it is now, and many other examples.

yah yah lets all gang up on Canada like dumbasses because it’s easy and stupid and one-dimensional and I done saw it on South Park I came out of a vagina on American soil so God loves me better. I wish the people who talk like geography makes a shit to how important somebody’s opinion is could all get beachfront property in hell because they never add anything to the discussion except retarded jingoistic flames.

For example “WE saved YOUR asses in WWII” as if they were there in their shit-stained Scarface boxer shorts and croc shoes storming the beaches at Normandy. Also the limeys are dumb and the french are cheese eating surrender monkeys the UN is for gay muslims and all that other retarded cliche horseshit that comes out of the mouths of chickenhawk hypocrite douchebags.

I’m still lost how bombing Christians is ironic.

It isn’t…JoabSonOfZeruiah is a rambling crazy fool. If he thought for two seconds he would realize Germany was a “christian nation” and we bombed the hell out of them too.
