Yoke Walk Form

Just wondering if anyone walks with the Yoke using an Olympic front squat hold. I tried the Yoke for the first time today and using this form got ~260 lbs. I wasn’t bad to walk with at all. I feel like the front squat grip is much easier for me for some reason, even though my front squat sucks.

I doubt many would attempt to use this simply because you can’t support and decent weight with it. 260lbs is incredibly light for a yoke, you’re looking double that at least for a novice/lightweight comp. Heavier weight is going to require putting the yoke on the back.

What Pwnisher said. Most yokes are more than 260lbs empty. Also, the bar is typically really thick which is going to make the front rack position even more uncomfortable.

If you feel uncomfortable with the yoke across your back, I would adjust how wide your grip is and play with whether you grip the cross member or the vertical supports. Also, try moving the bar up more into a high bar position. Low bar works for squats but it’s not really a good idea for yoke walks.
