Despite any condescending remarks this guy gets I still think he’s in pretty good shape.
But dude, you’re defiantly the biggest soccer player I have ever seen. I don’t know jack shit about soccer. I was under the impression most players were more like cross country runners who possessed good eye-foot co-ordination.
So what I really want to know is are you actually any good at soccer. Because I’ve been under the impression that being good at soccer requires an upper body like this…
Work on your hamstrings. They’re important for running. I hear you run a lot in soccer.
Beckham is my idol, but his body is not a MUST size to be good.
Look at roberto carlos, legs like tree stumps, drogba, big upper body, schevchenko, big upper body.
So long as ur not big big then your size has no real relevance to ur ability.
Ive been in state teams, national squad for indoor at young age and currently play in premier league here (below a-league) have trialed in UK so yes im a reasonable player.
Soccer is speed, agility, endurance, co-ordination, mental, and all the required soccer skills ![]()
You have a good base.
Go get em
If you are not already, I say you add to your program some CNS training (big compound movements) done with weights at a high intensity. (High Intensity, High Volume)
Exercises like Squats, Deadlifts, Clean-&-Jerk, Snatch, Pullups, Sled-Drags, Uphill Sprints, etc, (and their Variations) will do wonders to improve your athletic ability, strength, and add some serious mass.
My 2cents…
