Its funny about the chins with band resistance, after the 3rd or 4th rep, I cannot pull myself up fully, but I dont feel spent, its weird.

Hey Matty,
I did a little experiment this weekend to prove Nikki’s point. Prior to my leg training on Sunday I weighed 197.5 with two meals in me already. After my workout (in which I only drank water) and my post-workout shake (45g of protein, 20g of carbs (oats)) I weight 201.
This morning I weighed 199.5. (I had 3 more carb-less meals the rest of the day)
Now given how hard I killed it and how depleted I am/was, you/I may have expected a weight drop, not a gain. So I can imagine your 4lb gain is in line with the amount of weight that can be gained after a tough session.
My guess is I’ll be somewhere around 196 come Thursday morning.
Okay it seems I’m a dumbass but explain to me the way you write your DL’s. Because it looks like you did 5x315, 365x3, 385x1 which is inline with a 5/3/1 week 3. But the right below that you’ve got doubles and triple of a heavier weight, which means you didn’t just hit the 5/3/1 minimum. So I’m confused as fuck.
Anyway thats a lof of heavy pulls and to mirrior everybody else you are pretty damn thick.

LOL, thanks Joe, basically I have bastardized the 5/3/1 program beyond recognition. I do the 5/3/1 almost as a warmup now, and then go through heavy singles or doubles as it seems as it isnt enough of a DL session, I know the BBB template has you doing 5 back off sets after your original 5/3/1 sets, but with the DL, I dont believe 10 rep back off sets is the way to go. I try to do at least 1 DL set of 10 reps as a finisher (usually 315/8-10), yesterday I felt weak as hell so I kept the reps low.
It seems to have worked well so far, and I usually go for a PR or heavier based on feel, I definitely did not feel a PR yesterday so I kept my sets to a weight that I can get up a few times. Last week, I felt strong so I upped the weight and failed at a PR, but went as high as my current PR 455.
I know Wendler hates when people fucks around with the template, but I like assistance work, and quite frankly I want some instant gratification goddamit! ![]()

The simplest way I can put it:
Increased muscle mass + Water retention. How much could depend how much sodium is in your system at the time. As time goes (along with rest), your body will flush some/most of the water and your weight will adjust again.

I sometimes see MMA (seem like legit mma guys) at my gym trying to make weight or whatever, man that is some real dedictation, also wrestlers, man I was watching a documentary about this college wrestler on MTV ( I know, but the true life series has some good stuff) the hard work this kid put in was very impressive.
Thank god, I can get away with wearing a polo shirt to work, I wear’em year round cold or hot, it can be tough to find dress shirts that fit me right, either way too tight or way too baggy. Geoffrey Beene shirts 19 neck XXl seem to be the only ones to fit ok, but thankfully only weddings and job interviews!
