We should roll deep into BBK and go to detail fitness on avenue U

Ok bet, I will PM you so we can figure out a day, lets make it a DL day!

Thanks gentlemen, this will greatly facilitate my stalking. YAHTZEE!

Down 3 lbs! Nuthuggers! YAAAAY!

Its funny how in NYC, an island plentiful with meatheads, we don’t really have a thriving weight lifting community. I know of some Oly meets through my Oly gym in the tri-state, but I’ll ask them if anyone knows of any PLing meets too.

So jealous your going to the DR. I need a vacay, STAT!

Masch, you dont know how ready I am for some relaxation in DR, its been 6 loooong years since my last vacay, I cant wait. Im gonna OD on some DR Mamajuana!

Hell dont stalk meet us there!

You make a good point there is nothing in NYC as far as PL meets go, The IPA has one in Rochester NY, ONLY 340 miles away, even NJ which has more but many are in AC which is 150 miles away from me, The one I believe I am gonna do no matter what is the one in Newark Airport, in Jan thats a hop skip and a jump.

nice work- upright rows have long long been on the no can do list

high pulls or jump shrugs - which are like the o-lift equivalent.

I hate to say it but if you want to do a meet close to home you might need to head over to cross fit.
they sponsor little meets and shit all the time- not to knock cross fit but the ones in NYC
are kind of jack asses.

Matty if you go out ot long island - there is a gym with a mono lift out at Bev Francis’ gym

there is a spot on the upper east side - that has a forza bench a GHR and a bunch of bumpers,
but its something like 3500 a year private training only-

I think collesium gym in queens has a mono lift so there might be meat heads there too.

Matt McG who used to write for EliteFTS is in Manhattant- but traveled to places like albany and rocheschter to compete.
might be worth an email to him to see what he knows- he is a member here too.

He is a trainer at a crazy private gym in chelsea - again great gear but no membership not attached to personal training sessions
its called perform better or close to that.

and there is always Detail fitness- owed by a made guy on Avenue U- and W13
that place is a riot
they do have a room and a creaky cage and dead lift area with a bar jack

there are like 4 or 5 older as in geriatric russian powerlifters, who train there, and a guy named Pat something
who competes in PL and has a gym in his apt in Brooklyn called living room gym-
I kid you not.

I mention all this this- cause its hard to find places to meet people who do this - or train relatively locally.

Thanks for the info KMC, I actually watched a vid at Bev Francis’ gym it was like a 315 rep comp, it was very entertaing, one monster tore a pec and then other monsters were complaining that so many other monsters were half repping the movement.

There was a gym in Staten Island Called Johnny Lats that was supposed to be excellent but has since been closed for selling “illicit substances”

Very true. Especially for a guy like me. There aren’t a lot of middle-aged, suburban professional dads in my city who bodybuild. Although there is a fantastic selection of douchebags, and lobotomized meat-heads.

^ There everywhere Kent, its a growing Scourge that knows no limits.

<-------------- Semi-lobotomized, wannabe meat-head

I try to steer clear of the douchebaggery.

Yeah, I guess I gotta face facts, Im a meathead…and I kinda like it, The scourge engulfed me years ago!

I’m surprised at the lack of competitions and hardcore gyms in New York. I would have thought there’d be loads of them.

^ I think financial constraints makes it impossible for a gym that deals with a specific clientelle (i.e. serious PLers BBers) to survive in a city where it is soooo expensive. Commercial gyms seem to thrive because they cover the gamut of people who want to simply get in shape, or join and never show up. Its unfortunate for guys like me and Kevin, but its the reality of things There are a lot of meets up state but its just too far for me. But the one meet in NJ is real close and Im gonna get in on that.

I liken it to credit card companies, I dont think the credit card companies are making money of the people who pay their bills on time (i.e. the people who are taking whatever type of fitness they do seriously) but the deadbeats and the people who half ass their finances (i.e. the ones that join and never show up or the ones that are sporadic at best) are the ones they make the money off of.

Shit I dont even know if that makes sense lol.

reads posts and determines that nothing’s about Nikki Hmph.

Well… enjoy your FAF Matty =D

So nik, are you getting in a FAF today? come on at least have a snickers!

Nah brah, tightening up on my diet a lil’.

Curry chicken and eggplant for dinner. Not that it’s not delicious, just not naughty.
Be sure to spill the details of your FAF to satiate my mental appetite.

My FAF consisted of the same bland, tasteless, and excruciatingly dull food as I had on Monday.

And Tuesday.
And Wednesday.
And Thursday.

And tomorrow.
And the day after.
And the day after.
And the day after.

sob…

Yeah whatever Kent, you know thats when your at your happiest!

Speaking of Dull, thats how todays session, went didn’t have too much time so I had to cut it short…

NOTES: I think I may need a deload, Im a little mentally and physically drained. The MP’s are pissing me off, talk about stuck, and now its in my head. On top of it I step on the scale today and it showed 242 WTF, my FAF hasnt even started and I gained 4 lbs? F A F…will now stand for forever a fatass.

Somebody give me a Snickers STAT!

That’s not true, and you’re not even a fatass now. And stop hopping on the damn scale so much. You lift weights, you’re going to gain weight. And you just did legs in your last workout. I’ll be worried if you didn’t gain weight after a leg sesh.

Stay positive <3

If you feel like you need one, then you need a deload.
