Dude I hate front squats so good on ya for doing the henious bastards.
I hate them too, which probably means they are critically necessary.

Yep and I have stopped hating them and actually look forward to them.
LOL…they are no fun. Closing on Friday, so training may be sporadic this week, since it is me myself and I doing the moving.

NOTES: My joints have been screaming for a deload, so Im doing it, in and out today. Got a shit ton of moving to do, Ill try to catch up on the logs tonight my friends.
^ Good luck bro, I did this last year and moved a from a 3000 to 3500 square foot house and it was just me and the wife in June in Houston. Thought I was going to die.
Wow! front raises with 45 lbs? My rotator cuff muscles would shoot out my arse if I tried that!
DJHT, I feel your pain. I once had to move in Aug in Dallas. And the movers lost the map I gave them of where the new place was.
Matty, front squats are fun, but if you think you suck at back squats (you don’t by the way), then you’ll get frustrated with front squats. You have to lower weight to get form right. I’ve never been able to front squat more than back squat.
Thanks DJ I cannot wait till its all said and done, I would have to be very very desperate for work to be a professional mover.
Hey Brett, since I am not doing any heavy pressing this week I added front raises instead of the usual rear raises to target that area of the delts and keep em primed
Hey Cav when I do em again next week Im gonna start super light, Im talking 90lbs just to get the form right.
Nice work.
Moving sucks.
front squats are hard for the first few weeks.
then they get fun
LOL fun for who? Ill be repping 135s in no time ![]()
Have fun with the front squats. I remember when I started them many years ago, had to use the empty bar. After a couple of months, got up 95 lbs, and it absolutely crushed me, just couldn’t go higher without doing a weird squirming dance. I’m sure you’ll do better.
Ever see the TV show “Undercover Boss”? Each episode, they take the CEO of a big company and disguise him as an entry level employee in his own company. Once, they did it to the head of a moving company. You should have seen the guy “Wow, this is heavy . . . this is so hard . . . there’s more boxes? . . . when do we get a break? . . . oh my God this sofa is so HEAVY!!!” The other mover looks at him and says “Actually, it’s one of the light ones”
LOL…its funny how weight is, STUFF IS ALOT HEAVIER WITHOUT HANDLES DAMN! Like my old 40 gallon hot water heater, or the cylinder of death as I like to call it, I had to bear hug it out of the effing house, I think once I lifted it I received 2 new hernias.
hope your closing goes smoothly and don’t screw your shoulder up lifting a bass boat into the trailer…
You’ve never done front squats before? Oh I thought you did.
Enjoy your deload.
Take some time to rest after the moving too. “Deloading” while picking up the big screen TV doesn’t sound that deload-y =D
Thanks solodog, I appreciate it, just want it to be over.
Lol thanks Nikki, Ill be taking it somewhat easy in the gym, and busting my ass out of it.

Matty this is Dan John’s whole premise on lifting. Akward lifts and pulling/pushing. I will be doing some grunt work this weekend, lifting cement bags, pouring cement, digging post holes with post hole diggers and lifting paving stones. That will kick my ass more than a DL or squat routine.
^ a whole new approach to the real “functional” aspect of lifting.
^ hahahahahahaha PLUS in the Texas heat. I might have to forget the diet for the day and buy some beer. ![]()
Holy shit I can only imagine!
Hey it looks like we got that stupid thread about squating sandbags kicked out. Hahahahahaha
