NOTES: All things considered, this was a great session I hit a PR, on my MP, my shoulder held up well. I did WG pullups instead of chins because I felt like it. next week ill attempt 205/5 as it isnt a max out week. I think I like the idea of alternating weeks with max outs and then the other higher rep. I also switched up the delt and lat raises, I went heavy with the rears and light with the laterals, and did some machine laterals, which I liked alot. I also wanted to try some benching on the smith machine, no likey.
Im gonna have sex with my foam roller now.
Below a vid of the 210x2
That was some damn fine pressing.
All soft drinks are to be called coke.
Foam rolling your junk is hardcore.
Thanks Joe! Shit man if foam rolling your junk is hardcore im soft as shit, as I accidentally foam rolled one of my balls once…I weeped.

You had sex with a foam roller? Cool!!
Are you going to post a vid?
LOL, yeah maybe I will when I get enough nerve lol.
Pressing looks to be moving up. Great work and congrats on the PR.
Question about your DB OH presses…do you do them seated? I am asking because you got 6 reps with 200# worth of weight (2x100# DB), but did 205#x3, on MP. I usually find 2-handed exercises easier, not harder.
OH yeah definitely seated! Ill add them in on the description next time! Now Im sure this makes the DB presses easier? My strength levels are not at optimal levels once I get to the DB’s as I just did a ton of MPs, if I was only doing DB presses I have gone up to 115x8. The hardest part of DB OH pressing IMO is actually getting them into position.
It is a bit of a conundrum I think, you would think if I could do 100lbs in each hand seated I would be able to do heavier MPs right? I really do think sitting makes all the difference, because Seated Military Presses (for lack of a better term) I can more reps for more weight, so I think that is why there is that discrepancy.
Whats your opinion bro?

I was just wondering. I have heard people say that doing OH press seated is “easier”. That would explain, the weight/reps differences. Meaning, if you can do 100# DBs for 6 reps, while tired, then a 205# standing MP, when fresh, should result in more than 6 reps…if there was no difference in difficulty.
As I have never done barbell OH presses, while seated, I really can’t make the comparison. Having done DB OH Presses both standing and seated, though, I find the seated easier, just because there is so much more stability. I would think that heavy DB OH presses, while standing, would be a dangerous game, given stability issues.
Hell, it was seated DB OH presses that caused my shoulder issue. Anymore, if I do them standing, it is with no more than 40# DBs…absolute max.
And you are definitely right about getting the DBs into position. IF I can get it into position, I can press it.
I need heavier DBs. But damn, at a $.50-1.00 a pound, those things get pricey quick!
NO way am I trying to do 100lb standing DB presses! my shoulders would fall off lol!
Seated BB OH presses are waaay easier than standing,
I bet you could both go pretty heavy with standing DB presses. In fact I know that you could hit 100# once you got used to picking the weight up. I like doing both for variety but typically do them standing for the additional core work. To me it translates better to my standing press too. I do these single arm not two arm though which probably makes a big difference too.
So many ways to skin a cat…

I have went as high as 75 standing, I kinda swung’em up.
