The goal was nine reps, but I stopped at five. It was pretty obvious that it wasn’t happening. It’s okay; I got my excuses. brb ate horribly (payload and quality wise) yesterday and endured yet another sleepless night.
Paused CGBP
185x3
(185, 50 lbs chains x 3)x5 (flat footed setup on the 1st two sets)
This was difficult.
Lat Pulldown - 6x12 (up to 230x12)
Dip - (BWx15)x3 (staggered with pulldowns)
Ran another 440 for some shitty time and did like 10 minutes of bleacher sprints before I tanked. I honestly think it’s best to save it anyway…got a big DL day coming up.
135x8
225x5
315x3
375x3
435x3
465x2
505x1
530x1 (couldn’t budge 2nd rep)
545 x no dice (didn’t break)
(470x2)x6 (six I think?)
Felt stupid explosive on the warmup sets, but 505 felt pretty funky at the bottom. Pushed my luck and went for 530x3, but that wasn’t happening. Felt that I might as well try and set a cheap weight PR, but that was the same story. Backed down and did some volume. My legs definitely felt kind of deconditioned to heavy sumo pulling, but I think I know how to remedy that. 6x2 got me really strong when I was using straps, so hopefully it will have a similar effect sans straps. I’m going to do said rep scheme after the main work on my rep and heavy days.
Afterwards, I worked up to a 420 lb single plus 100 lbs of chains on conventional pulls from a deficit. Failed the first attempt, got the second one. I think the chains may have been off center by the time I attempted the single, so the amount of resistance that they actually imparted on the bar may have been somewhat skewed.
Three circuits of:
BW Back Raises
BW Reverse Hypers
Seated Leg Curls
Machine Row - 2 sets
Not quite how I imagined this session to go, but I still managed to end it on a high note.
The 405 set was no problem. Just a lot of reps. The doubles were a bit slow off the floor due to the prior work, but they were still fairly strong considering everything.

I’m sure you know what you are doing, but when I read some basics over the cube method isn’t the “rep” day working up to a set of 8?[/quote]
It can if you want it to be. I’ve done something like that before, but at it’s core, cube is really vague and leaves a lot up to individual customization and interpretation.
Great Log Bro
I started doing 531 myself 6 weeks ago going really well… I want to start a log myself but im useless on computers and have no idea how to??

Go to “Logs” on the top of the page and click “Training Logs” in the drop-down box. Then click “New” towards to top of the page to create a new one.
