XBox Game Recommendations

I took all of this week off in order to clear my noggin from waaaay too much work stress. I just finished Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and I need something new to eat up some time on the ol’ XBox (while waiting for 360 to come out at the end of this year). I have a few ideas in mind:

  • GTA: San Andreas
  • Stars Wars Republic Commando
  • Conker: Live and Reloaded

I’m completely open to suggestions, though. I’m not committed to any particular style of game at this point, so all ideas are appreciated.

If you xbox live? Halo no doubt.

A few weeks ago, I picked up Fight Night Round 2 and it’s an awesome. The career mode is addictive as you work your way up the ladder. You can change weight classes as well as train your fighter. If you have some spare time, I would check it out.

I have Halo 2 and need to log on today to download the new maps. The funny thing is that as much as I love Halo 2, I ended up getting a little burned out on it with Live. I think the overall punk factor got tiresome after a while, but I might need to rekindle the inner Master Chief and go frag the bejeezus outta some punks.

Rainjack! Where are ya? It’s killing time!

Intriguing suggestion and one I had not thought of. A friend of mine was saying that using the thumbsticks for punching controls made the game a lot more intuitive and realistic. Thanks! That one is moving up the list (although GTA: SA is still looking very high and Conker looks good for pure comedy alone).

I second the recommendation for fight night round 2, and GTA SA is a great game.

Dude for me it’s all about the sports games.

EA sports games rather, fuck the street football games, etc.

I’m playing a baseball season right now on EA’s MLB 2005. I’m usually one to play a season concurrently with whatever is being played real time. I also have a Nascar 2005 season going right now too, but haven’t played it in awhile since I’m so into the baseball season.

I love being able to create players, not just “ringers” and being able to make trades, send players up or down into the Minors if need be, etc…

My team is the Tigers.
I’ve created myself playing third, my older brother in center and my little brother in right. My dad is a middle reliever but since he’s 55 years old I can’t use him as much as I like, need to save him for the playoffs. It’s funny seeing a 5’6 right fielder with a gut out there, just like we were playing a game at a family reunion or something. Can’t seem to outhit my older brother though, I’ve got a better batting average but Jeff has me beat in dingers, much more natural swing on that guy.

Anyway, that’s my deal with the X-box, can’t really get into the RPG’s as much. Halo 2 is a fantastic adventure, but the nostalgia and strive to take my team the world series overpowers that tenfold…

Kuz,

Out of your choices there, I’d go with Conker for sure. I’ve never laughed so much from a video game until I played that. Pure genius.

If you’re looking for a good fighting game, I recommened ‘Def Jam: Fight for New York’. It’s the best fighting game I’ve ever played. (All though I haven’t tried this ‘Fight Night’ you guys are talking about) The story is awesome, the moves are awesome. You can play it over and over and not get bored. There’s just so many ways to customize your character in that game too.

Red Dead Revolver was a good game. It was short though, but lots of fun for a western theme. Maybe save that as a rental.

Of course, these games don’t compare to the unbelievably huge KOTR’s, but they’re just some ideas.

Keep on rockin’ in the free world.

This is the shit! You can make a fighter with the body you want, head, tattoos etc. It’s the only game I play.

If you wanna stick with BioWare go jade Empire. I also recommend ninja gadien; but be warned it is hard until you get good at it.

I 2nd Ninja Gaiden, by far one of my Favorites.

I’ll throw another shout for Mercenaries, awesome game, everything blows up.
Burnout 3 is also an awesome game. The point is to go very fast and then just crash into shit. Very deep game

I’ve tried renting Fight Night from Blockbuster twice, but each time, the disc was scratched up. Jackasses.

Last time I was there, I saw some game, I can’t remember the name of it, but the point is to answer trivia questions, and you get to see video clips of real-life girls flashing, Girls Gone Wild style. I didn’t feel lame enough to rent that one.

I’ve gotten into UFC Tapout. I think they’re making (or made) a sequel, but the first is awesome, with realistic moves I can appreciate (but about 50% more blood than would be in reality, but that’s not such a bad thing.)

OK, just got back from Game Stop and picked up GTA SA and getting ready to pop that sucker in. First off, I am amazed at how HUGE it all looks, from the map to the radio stations (seriously, Chuck D, Axl Rose and George Clinton as some of the DJ’s??? Awesome). This seems like something you could get lost in for months on end.

But I think Fight Night might need to be the next purchase based on the recommendations on here. Also, anyone play Star Wars Republic Commando at all? There was a demo of it on the KOTOR II disc and it was sweet. Just curious.

I still need to get a thread going to get a T-Nation game night crack-a-lacking on XBox Live with, say, Halo 2. Post on here or PM me if interested.

It’s been months since I’ve booted the good 'ole Halo 2 up. I think a huge game is a good idea.

If you like RPG’s then you’ll like Morrowind. It should be pretty cheap right now since it’s been out awhile. BioWare’s Jade Empire is another excellent choice.

The original KoTOR by BioWare is more RPG oriented vs. the KoTOR II that was developed by Obsidian.

you made a good choice with SA, when you beat that check out the new splinter cell game.
and the big Halo game is a great idea, if anyone wants to play gamer tage is BrwnbellyYankee.

why don’t we set up a T-Nation clan? What’s your handle? I’ll send you a friend request as soon as I log on again.

By the way this goes to all the T-Nation heads who troll on Halo.

I played it for pc and it was a tepid shooter at best. If you want squad combat go with any of the ghost or rainbow six games, or FSW or brothers in arms.
