X-comp Training by Doug Santillo

I am in the middle of Ian Kings Limping Series and I am loving it. I am ready to switch up my upper body training and was wondering if anyone thought the upper body days from x-comp training might be good to use. I am on a MT:on W:off ThF:on SSu:off split, w/ legs on T and Fri and upper body on M and Th. I have not done any low rep work in a while do you think this will be a good idea to get some strength gains and maybe since I havent trainded this syle in a while shock my body into some size gains? If anyone has tried this method of training and has some input please let me know or if anyone has any other suggestions on how to split up my upper body days.
P.S.
I already tried Ians Upper Body program and was not a fan, (I dont like the Verticle push/pull horizontal push/pull split)
