Cold weather - what is that, 50 degrees down there?
Hah!! Actually, it dropped down to about 30. Snow flurries on Feb 28, but not even close to sticking. Dropped from about 70 to 35 in a few hours. Definitely got my attention!!
I guess this is a hint that when I write your anthem I’ll have to mention how you brave the bitter winter!!
Yeah, it is frigid here. 70+ degrees today, under 1/4 inch of snow in February. BRRRR!!!

I’m the only bitter thing about this winter!
Thankfully, it was back in the 60’s today. It’s way too late in the year to have to put up with sub 50 temps ! ! !
Mini Rant: I’m working our Ops desk this afternoon. There’s a TV here, which I have muted. Some gal is . . . WAIT!! I’m reading that some McDonald’s employee called 911THREE TIMES to report they were out of Chicken Nuggets! I’ll have to find a link and report back on this. Anyway, with all the problems in the world today some channel, I believe CNN, is about to run something called “The Bachelor, Coast to Coast Outrage.” Apparently, on the TV show TheBachelor, The Bachelor acted less than savory toward the winning contestant. With the utter lack of depth on the US News circuit, this sort of nonsense trumps the real problems we face today. F*** me!!

Today’s workout
Warmed up with 2 sets of 5 dips, 2 sets of ring pushups
8 circuits of
10 ring pushups with feet elevated 13" and 45 lb plate on my back.
4 pullups for 1st 5 circuits, 5 pullups for last 3
20 one-handed swings, then 10 snatches with 53 lb KB; swap hands every 5 movements.
Same as Monday’s workout but I did it about 10 minutes quicker. I’d have done 5 more pullups but I’m feeling a small tugging in my right elbow.
Got nabbed for the pee test and while I was at the Hospital I got an anthrax shot. Didn’t burn as bad as the previous ones and just itched a bit for the rest of the day.
Figured I’d push the EconoProwler. One of my training partners and I pushed it, running like fat kids after the ice cream man, as stated earlier in my log.
I paced off 42 yards; each run is back and forth for a distance of 84 yards +/-. The only rest is when the other guy is pushing.
6 runs.
About 2 minutes rest
2 runs
About 2 minutes rest
2 runs
About 1 minute rest
1 run
2 or 3 minutes rest
1 run
12 runs total for a little over 1000 yards. Didn’t time the runs, of course, as it just occured to me that it might be a good idea!!

Do you have a stopwatch/clock that runs that high?
Of course he does, it’s called a calender. (sorry couldn’t resist)
OUCH!! Canada attacks!! I am MOST offended by those statements; I have a perfectly good sundial, thank you!!

Feelin’ a bit run down so I forsook the front squats today.
Decided on combos with a 53 lb KB.
Did 5 reps of each exercise, before switching hands:
20 one armed swings, 20 snatches, 20 cleans
Did this 5 times for 100 total of each exercise. Each combo took 2 minutes plus I rested 2 minutes between each. Also did some very light front squats and did about 10 presses each arm w/ a 35 lb KB to get my shoulder used to it again. Shoulder felt pretty durn good as long as I kept the KB in a good groove. Of course, that is WTF I’m s’posed to do!!
1 set of 4 pullups. My right elbow explained to me that I shouldn’t do anymore pullups for a week or two. No pain, but a definitel “pulled” feeling that is a precursor to pain.
Seated Rows: 2 sets of 180 lbs, 2 sets of 210 lbs, 5 sets of 225 lbs
40 one-armed swings, 40 snatches w/ 44 lb KB, switch hands every 5 movements: Did this twice.
10 snatches per arm w/ 44 lb KB
Tabata Snatches w/ 53 lb KB. Did 10 per arm for the requisite 20 seconds, 10 seconds of rest, repeat with the opposite arm. Total of 4 minutes which’d be 40 snatches per arm. Good, strong, quick workout!
Warmed up w/ 2 sets of 5 military presses each arm: 35 lb KB, then 1 set of 5 military presses each arm w/ 44 lb KB. Looks like my shoulders are healthy again.
10 x 8 ring pushups w/ feet elevated 13" and 70 lbs on my back.
