Cold weather - what is that, 50 degrees down there?

Hah!! Actually, it dropped down to about 30. Snow flurries on Feb 28, but not even close to sticking. Dropped from about 70 to 35 in a few hours. Definitely got my attention!!

I guess this is a hint that when I write your anthem I’ll have to mention how you brave the bitter winter!![/quote]

Yeah, it is frigid here. 70+ degrees today, under 1/4 inch of snow in February. BRRRR!!!

I’m the only bitter thing about this winter!

Thankfully, it was back in the 60’s today. It’s way too late in the year to have to put up with sub 50 temps ! ! !

Mini Rant: I’m working our Ops desk this afternoon. There’s a TV here, which I have muted. Some gal is . . . WAIT!! I’m reading that some McDonald’s employee called 911 THREE TIMES to report they were out of Chicken Nuggets! I’ll have to find a link and report back on this. Anyway, with all the problems in the world today some channel, I believe CNN, is about to run something called “The Bachelor, Coast to Coast Outrage.” Apparently, on the TV show The Bachelor, The Bachelor acted less than savory toward the winning contestant. With the utter lack of depth on the US News circuit, this sort of nonsense trumps the real problems we face today. F*** me!!

4 March 2009

Today’s workout

Warmed up with 2 sets of 5 dips, 2 sets of ring pushups

8 circuits of

10 ring pushups with feet elevated 13" and 45 lb plate on my back.

4 pullups for 1st 5 circuits, 5 pullups for last 3

20 one-handed swings, then 10 snatches with 53 lb KB; swap hands every 5 movements.

Same as Monday’s workout but I did it about 10 minutes quicker. I’d have done 5 more pullups but I’m feeling a small tugging in my right elbow.

5 Mar 2009

Econo Prowler: Put 50 lbs on it and ran back and forth, 30 yds each way. Did a total of 12 and we each had enough.

6 March 2009

Bench Press

3 x 135/4

3 x 225/3

4 x 225/4

3 x 225/5

Upright Row

2 x 120/5

6 x 150/5

2 x 180/5

I followed each set of BP with a set of rows

After 5 sets of each I did 50 snatches with a 53 lb KB, switching hands each 5 snatches.

After finishing the 10th set of BP/Rows I did 50 more KB snatches with the 53.

7 March 09

Worked today, as it’s our “one weekend a month:”

Got nabbed for the pee test and while I was at the Hospital I got an anthrax shot. Didn’t burn as bad as the previous ones and just itched a bit for the rest of the day.

Figured I’d push the EconoProwler. One of my training partners and I pushed it, running like fat kids after the ice cream man, as stated earlier in my log.

I paced off 42 yards; each run is back and forth for a distance of 84 yards +/-. The only rest is when the other guy is pushing.

6 runs.

About 2 minutes rest

2 runs

About 2 minutes rest

2 runs

About 1 minute rest

1 run

2 or 3 minutes rest

1 run

12 runs total for a little over 1000 yards. Didn’t time the runs, of course, as it just occured to me that it might be a good idea!!

Do you have a stopwatch/clock that runs that high?

OUCH!! Canada attacks!! I am MOST offended by those statements; I have a perfectly good sundial, thank you!!

10 March 2009

Feelin’ a bit run down so I forsook the front squats today.

Decided on combos with a 53 lb KB.

Did 5 reps of each exercise, before switching hands:

20 one armed swings, 20 snatches, 20 cleans

Did this 5 times for 100 total of each exercise. Each combo took 2 minutes plus I rested 2 minutes between each. Also did some very light front squats and did about 10 presses each arm w/ a 35 lb KB to get my shoulder used to it again. Shoulder felt pretty durn good as long as I kept the KB in a good groove. Of course, that is WTF I’m s’posed to do!!

11 Mar 2009

Warmed up with 2 sets of 5 dips and 2 sets of 5 ring pushups.

10 sets of ring pushups w/ feet elevated 13" and 45 lb plate on my back

2 sets of 20 one-armed swings & 20 snatches w/ 53 lb KB

1 set of 4 pullups. My right elbow explained to me that I shouldn’t do anymore pullups for a week or two. No pain, but a definitel “pulled” feeling that is a precursor to pain.

Seated Rows: 2 sets of 180 lbs, 2 sets of 210 lbs, 5 sets of 225 lbs

This was all done in a circuit type format.

12 Mar 2009

Good day today. Pushed the sled with some other guys.

Each round trip is 84 yards

3 round trips w/ 70 lbs

4 round trips w/ 50 lbs

12 one way trips w/ 50 lbs

1 round trip w/ 50 lbs

Total 14 round trips for 1176 yds +/-

One mile is 1760 yards; gives me something to shoot for.

13 Mar 2009

Got a late start but was happy with today.

Warmed up w/ 2 sets of 5 each: Ring Pushups & Dips

Ring Pushups, feet elevated 13", with 70 lbs on my back.

5 sets of 10; 1 each of 7, 6, 5, 6, 6

80 total

Done in Conjunction w/ Seated Cable Rows:

10 sets of 210x5

14 Mar 2009

Busy day today so I did some quick KB drills

40 one-armed swings, 40 snatches w/ 44 lb KB, switch hands every 5 movements: Did this twice.

10 snatches per arm w/ 44 lb KB

Tabata Snatches w/ 53 lb KB. Did 10 per arm for the requisite 20 seconds, 10 seconds of rest, repeat with the opposite arm. Total of 4 minutes which’d be 40 snatches per arm. Good, strong, quick workout!

15 Mar 2009

Tabata w/ 53 lb KB snatch.

16 Mar 2009

2 sets of 5 dips; 2 sets of 5 ring pushups

10 sets of 8 ring pushups; 70 lbs on my back, feet elevated about 13".

10 sets of 5 seated rows w/ 225 lbs.

Also did 2 sets of 50 one handed swings w/ 35 lb KB, switching hands every 5 swings. Was a great “loosener.”

Totaled 100 swings, 80 pushups, 50 seated rows.

I want more videos!

You also said you would post more videos of your house and I haven’t seen those either.

You, my dear, are a big liar!

More videos are forthcoming. I’ll get a house video when it’s sunny again.

I’m not quite as big a liar; as I’ve dropped about 5 lbs!!

17 Mar 2009

44 lb KB: 20 one-handed swings followed by 20 snatches, switch hands each 5 movements. Did this twice.

44 lb KB: same as above except 10 & 10 twice.

Tabata Snatches w/ 70 lb KB. Did 10 snatches per hand 1st & 2nd minute. Did 9 snatches per hand 3d and 4th minute. Ass Kicker.

18 Mar 09

Warmed up w/ 2 sets of 5 military presses each arm: 35 lb KB, then 1 set of 5 military presses each arm w/ 44 lb KB. Looks like my shoulders are healthy again.

10 x 8 ring pushups w/ feet elevated 13" and 70 lbs on my back.

5 x 4 ring pullups, 1 x 5 ring pullups

10 x 5 seated row w/ 225 lbs.

19 Mar 2009

Sled Day. Pushed the EconoProwler w/ 50 lbs on it. Trying to run . . .

2 round trips of 84 yards each

20 one-way trips of 55 yards each

4 one-way trips of 42 yards each

2 round trips of 84 yards each

Totaled about 1600 yards plus a little lagniappe.

REALLY good day. Worn out afterward but felt really good. Sun was out, it was in the low 70s and the ground was a bit soft.

Today is March 20th.

It has been 22 days since you’ve posted a video.

That is unacceptable and against the terms of our agreement.

I want my money back.
