A couple more sled videos. In these we’re going diagonally across the yard; a little over 50 yards doin’ our damnedest to run. We have 98 lbs on the sled. This is our 3rd of 4 total runs.

Well, I was sober, so I couldn’t call it stumbling . . . Kinda looks like a fat kid chasing the ice cream man, doesn’t it??
Yeah, I’m just a wee bit south of Windsor . . . As for the potty mouth, I guess I’d just not fit in with the dignified and refined folk who populate Ontario!! :-o

But I do like your house :D[/quote]
Ahhh, you are a chick after all!! A strong, smart, focused one, but a chick nonetheless!! Thanks for the compliment, by the way!!
Time to try something new. I’ve never front squatted to amount to anything; mainly due to not knowing how to hold the bar properly. Time to change that.
3 x bar/4
4 x 135/4
2 x 185/4
2 x 205/4
1 x 225/3
1 x 225/4
1 x 225/6
3 x 225/4
I held the bar a little too far from my throat but will fix that. I liked how I had no choice but to keep my back straight. Didn’t work my legs nearly as hard as I thought I would, but I can see where as I get used to the movement and use more weight it will be a killer!! I’ll be using those, along with deadlifts, for about the next 6-8 weeks, possibly longer.

You talk funny. You also have a potty mouth.

A fat kid chasing the ice cream man, yes. That’s actually a great description of it…
I wasn’t complaining of your potty mouth, just stating a fact. I’m not a refined princess by any means. Case in point: I played volleyball Monday night and my timing was off for my hits and so I kept saying “F-ck!”. There were some people’s kids around so my teammates kept saying “Truck? You see a truck?”. At one point a boy about 4 or so said “Mommy where’s the truck?”. I laughed.
And yes sir, I am a chick. I’d like some more pictures, both interior and exterior before I can tell you just how much I like it though…

Thank you. It pretty much leapt out at me when I looked at my pitiful struggle against the sled.
You’re not?!?! Yeah, my assessment of Ontarioans(?), was just a wee bit tongue in cheek!
THAT is funny! I’d figured you might let the occasional obscenity slip; that’s very cute how the little boy asked about the “truck.” I had a grandfather who thought it riotously funny to hear little kids cuss. Have you any idea how much fun it is when you’re that young to have your grandfather laugh when you cuss??

I’ll probably put some up on my FB page. When I do I’ll shoot you a message there.
Read the “Crazy Bells” article on T-Nation and tried it out. Bench pressing with 70 lbs of KB on each side of the bar, suspended by a jumpstretch band, for a 185 lb total. A true bitch to try to control.
Wx- great log, one of the few i actually read through.
had 2 questions about your equipment, is the econo-prowler worth it? ive been thinking about getting one, and how much does it weigh on its own? and same for the five-fingers, still liking those? what have you noticed with the shoes?
sorry for the hijack, keep up the good work!

Wow; thanks for the kind words! No such thing as a “hijack” on my thread, by the way.
I think the EconoProwler is worth it. Includingshipping, it costs less than the regular prowler’s base price. It’s VERY sturdy and the only assembly is using two bolts to attach the two pieces together. By itself, I’d estimate its weight somewhere around 50-60 lbs. Also, Dave Tate doesn’t sell junk. If you buy something from elitefts.com you’re getting your money’s worth. Period.
I love the five-fingers. I won’t wear anything else for lifting. There’s absolutely NO “wiggling.” Your feet stay firmly anchored and your toes grip. I was having some pain in my right hip. Within a few days of wearing the five-fingers that diminished greatly and is now just about gone.
I did buy some cleats to push the econoprowler with. When I bought it Jim Wendler told me to get some. I got a pair at Hibbett Sports for $25. I’m 45, that’s the only thing I’ll ever be buying cleats for!!
Again: thanks for the kind words, dakotah_13. I really appreciate hearing from you.

That has got to be some of the funniest shit I’ve ever seen. Looks hard as hell, but I kept laughing with how much the bar was shaking

Thanks a ton, man! I appreciate that.

Brought my EconoProwler to the Combat Control Team Gym. They have a ruck with a 45 lb plate attached to a strap. They also have a slosh pipe, 12’ long with 50 lbs of water.
We pushed the sled with 50 and then 120 lbs about 40 yards. I made 6 trips doing that and ran dragging the 45 behind me for about 100 yards. Tried the slosh pipe, got up to a decent trot, but quickly lost control of the damn thing.
Later stripped the EProwler down to 50 lbs then pushed that while dragging the 45 lb plate. Almost puked!! Made 6 of the 40 yard trips with that and I was toast!!
A few of my training partners did the same thing. Before I had my camera out, one of the Combat Control Instructors ran dragging the 45 while carrying the slosh pipe!!

Yeah, it feels just like it looks!! Definitely keeps your attention. One thing I’ve found is the faster you move the weight the easier it is to control.
Good day. I’m sipping the Surge Workout Fuel throughout my workout; guess that’s why they named it that . . . . Anyway, I think I’m taking in my milk/Metabolic Drive a little too close to workout time (1 hour +/-), because my stomach gets a bit out of sorts toward the end. Also, I’m making rather long, loud, manly noises with my rear end. Never in front of ladies, though!!
Okay, enough nonsense.
2 sets of 5 dips, 2 sets of pushups on rings.
8 circuits:
10 pushups on rings w/ feet elevated 13", and 45 lb plate on my back
Big weekend of eating (some) junk at my mom’s house. Brought KBs but I didn’t pack for cold weather, so I didn’t work out. Sun still came up this morning so back to it.

Hah!! Actually, it dropped down to about 30. Snow flurries on Feb 28, but not even close to sticking. Dropped from about 70 to 35 in a few hours. Definitely got my attention!!
I guess this is a hint that when I write your anthem I’ll have to mention how you brave the bitter winter!!
Thanks, Jack!! I appreciate your checking out my log and leaving the kind words.

Not my best effort today. My friggin’ abs are weak. I fell into the trap of thinking that since I was deadlifting 550 I was getting all the indirect ab work I needed. Wrong as two boys . . . . kissing!
Seriously, I’m off to buy an ab wheel and am going to start paying more attention to my abs.
Front Squats: 3 sets of 4 w/ the bar
135 x 3 sets of 4
185 x 3 sets of 4
235 x 4 sets of 3
255 x 4 sets of 3
The damn bar kept rolling a little ways down my arms. I’m leaning a bit forward and am initially blaming lack of ab strength. It’s possible that I’m not tightening up enough beforehand; I’m gonna start doing ab work again, however. There’s no excuse for letting 255 roll down my shoulders.
