No adult male likes random kids THAT much for purely altruistic reasons. Sorry to sound like a cynical bastard, but c’mon.

Innocent unto proven guilt? Paterno, the prez & AD testified that they know about sanduskys actions (which Sandusky admitted to)

When 8 people come forward individually with remarkably similar reports (a number that will increase), you have to be realistic. What on earth do a bunch of 22-27yr old dudes have to gain from making this shit up?

Due process will be used for the upcoming criminal procedures for Sandusky, Curley, and Schultz.
The PR shitstorm itself and the stain brought upon PSU, not to mention the moral outrage, were enough to fire Paterno. Even if the initial allegations are false, despite the overwhelming number of victims and witnesses, the testimony shows that the allegations were made, and subsequently buried for years, with scarcely anything but indifference from Paterno. It was a matter of how it was all handled which sealed the fates of Paterno and Spanier. That is not a matter of due process.

What’s your argument?
You said you spent a lot of time learning about this, have you read the grand jury report? What is your opinion of Sandusky?
the problem above is that you use the word “rape”. I do not believe that Joe Pa was told his assistant was “raping” a child in the shower.
Just to be clear, I did not author the above article. I’m very comfortable in describing sexual activities between an adult and a minor as rape, however. Perhaps you’d be more comfortable with sexual assault, corruption of a minor, child molestation…
“horsing around” as it has been quoted by Joe Pa also can mean many things that falls way short of “rape” or “abuse”.
I agree. But it can only mean evil when the parties involved are naked, and one is a non-consenting minor.

You must have missed the quoted parts where Sandusky admits to victim #6’s mom (while two police officers listened) that he touched her son in the shower.

Good grief. The word obtuse comes to mind.
I don’t want to turn this into a MJ debate, but while I’m still skeptical as to whether or not he actually WAS greasing children up with Jesus Juice and diddling them in the Treasure Trove room (or whatever), I am extremely certain that the dude was CLEARLY fucked up on a personal level.
So, yeah… I’ll remain a cynical bastard and assume that any grown male who displays an interest that borders on a fanatical devotion to the “well-being” young boys is a guy I wanna keep my eyes on for one reason or another. At least, not without a serious back story that explains their convictions. And I CERTAINLY wouldn’t trust such a guy enough to let my CHILD sleep over his house unsupervised. Celebrity, icon, whatever… the dude is ultimately a COMPLETE FUCKING STRANGER to me.
Then again, if I gave more of a shit about football or was from the area maybe I’d automatically be giving the guy the benefit of the doubt like those parents did.

You only get due process in legal proceedings. Morality is completely separate. Paterno deserves to be fired for doing what he did by his own account.
It is not the jury’s job to form an opinion, nor is it wrong to form an opinion if you aren’t on a jury.

Wait until all the facts are in?
Sandusky admitted to the mother of victim #6 (while two police officers listened) that he inappropriately touched her son in the shower.
JoePa testified that he was told about the sexual abuse.
The Pres and AD testified that JoePa told them what he was told.

WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?
Haha! I actually expect Sandusky to commit suicide before this thing reaches a courtroom and jury.
