Good grief. The word obtuse comes to mind.
Yup. People can be guilty as sin without due process. There is way to much evidence to say he is innocent. Pleading innocent is his only option. He’s not going to get a break for pleading guilty, so he might as well try to get away with it.

I think this incident has put considerable strain on his marriage… What the hell is she thinking? File for divorce and clean him out before he has to pay for all the legal fees.

I wonder how many of his adopted kids he was raping?

I have read it a couple of times actually, and its not really my spot to have any opinion on Sandusky… thats the job of the trial jury

in the end my opinion is the media is creating a firestorm before all the facts are in and the world needs to pull back and wait to see what the facts are in this case
Wait until all the facts are in?

Sandusky admitted to the mother of victim #6 (while two police officers listened) that he inappropriately touched her son in the shower.

JoePa testified that he was told about the sexual abuse.

The Pres and AD testified that JoePa told them what he was told.

What more facts do you want?
The facts ARE in. They just haven’t been presented to a jury. Once they do, he’ll get all the ass love he can handle…

I have read it and disagree with the firing of Paterno. Should he have gone above and beyond and followed up? Yes. Has he admitted this? Yes. Is hindsight 20/20? Yes. That doesn’t mean fire him with 3 games left in the season, yet let the guy who saw a 10 y/o being raped and did NOTHING to stop it, coach on Saturday. Again, I say, FUCK THAT SHIT.

Okay

So you think they should have let JoePa keep coaching after all that he admitted?

I posted it earlier, but it may bear repeating. I believe that the Board of Trustees is wary of McQueary being treated as a whistleblower and therefore entitled to certain legal protection against termination, suspension, etc.

“The Pennsylvania Whistleblower Law applies to public sector employees only; it prohibits an employer from discharging, threatening or otherwise discriminating or retaliating against an employee, or a person acting on behalf of an employee, who has made a good faith report of wrongdoing or waste to the employer or an appropriate authority, or when the employee is asked by an appropriate authority to participate in an investigation, hearing or court action. “Wrongdoing” is defined in the statute as any violation of any state, federal or local law, regulation, ordinance, code of conduct or code of ethics designed to protect the interest of the public or the employer.”

I don’t consider him a whistleblower, I consider him a pussy.

No… he should have gone to the cops… period. It’s like having knowledge of a murderer and telling your boss after several days, then continuing to have the guy hanging out in your buildings and not ever doing anything.

He’d have to have figured out nothing was done when he continued to see the child raper walking around the campus and facilities.

Yeah, but does that apply when the “whistleblower” didn’t follow NORMAL avenues when witnessing a crime?

McQueary probably has whistleblower protection. They can’t fire him without facing a wrongful termination suit.

And why isn’t Paterno a whistleblower? He took it to his bosses. Under this, his also a whistleblower. They were looking to get rid of him, so they did. There was no need to fire him. The grand jury report said he did not commit a crime, he did what any reasonable citizen would have done, that is all you can ask of a person. Again, SHOULD he have followed up when nothing happened? HELL YEAH. But he didn’t. Hindsight is 20/20.

I guess it depends on who is an “appropriate authority”. In this case, given the criminal nature of what McQueary witnessed, I would argue that Penn Child Services at a minimum would be an appropriate authority, and certainly the police. In my mind, telling your Daddy and the head coach of the football team doesn’t quite cut it.

I think this quote is particularly apt:

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

He was fired for what he didn’t do, not what he did. You can and should be fired for a lot of things that aren’t criminal offenses. And he did not do what a reasonable person would do.

Whistleblower, fuck that, why hasn’t McQueary RESIGNED?

Nebraska is going to rape Penn State on saturday! (too soon?)

Cause he will never get another job in College or below that. Maybe NFL job, but his career is over outside of PSU.

I really hope McQueary goes out tonight to the bars in town he loves so much and gets his ass beat.

Nah… The huskers are going to ass rape PSU on Saturday…
I should do a sports book. It’s a friggin guaranteed victory and I don’t think this incident would actually change the spread.
