My advice is simple and, for me, very effective. I hit a 46" standing vertical box jump in the gym two days ago.
I recommend learning the clean and jerk and the snatch. Train them with doubles for technique and singles for technique and power, triples for conditioning. And meet with a coach several times a week.
This might piss people off, esp. since I’ve been flamed for telling people to learn the full lifts in the past. But it’s quite simple, if you jump with adequate external resistance it’s going to translate to a powerful and fast vertical. As long as you don’t want to gain size I see no reason not to follow a full oly workout program, with box jumps and plyos ONLY on deload weeks every 6-8 weeks - just going “by feel” depending on your conditioning and volume. During deload weeks just hit the gym for 20 mins and practice your jumps.
Conjugate periodization is just not necessary, and WS4SB is too broad - there is just too much bodybuilding influence in there, and you’ll put on weight and have difficulty handling adequate volume with the oly lifts with all that b/s supplementary work.
Just my $.02.
