Wrestling: Off-Season

Off season I’d say WS4SB would be the way to go, with the extra workouts comng from sandbag/sleds, etc as the coach mention above.

For your preseason training, since you’e new here, check out an old article called Meltdown Training. Some of the most brutal shit ever devised given the length of the workouts.

Don Alessi deserves an award, and then a special spot in hell for that thing.

man don’t even worry about it but to be honest 140 isnt the strongest weight class in our division so I kinda cut a break in my first season as half varsity half JV, but you think I could do most of the program in a commercial gym like gold’s or should I look for another gym cause I don’t recognize some of the lifts and I’m prolly going to try to get them offline[/quote]

It all depends on what the gym offers. I know the strongman equipment needed in that program is hard to come by so I try to make due the best I can using dumbbells and what not.

Theres a website I found somewhere which literally had every single exercise on a video demonstration I could imagine but I’m havin a hell of a time finding that link. Ill post it if I can find it. Im not real familiar with the differences in golds gym’s depending on location either so sorry man I can’t help ya out to much on that one.

all right at this point I’m ot sure what to do for training because the don alessi thing intrigues me and I guess I’ll have to stick to gold’s, but if you could find that website I would really appreciate it

Not sure how experienced you are in lifting but those seem to have everything from beginning to advanced

I would suggest that you check out www.rosstraining.com for your conditioning work.
Burpees are your friend and you will hate them, but if you want to win then you must work hard.

Bill Starr 5x5 for your training program…

oh don’t worry I know about burpees our conditioning coach enjoys them a lot considering he actually exercises with us, and thx a lot man those websites actually have enough exercises to keep em busy for a while and about the bill starr program you think you could give me a website whre I can find the workout itself and a good explanation of it? thanks a lot to everyone
