I don’t know if I’m too late for this or not, but here’s my input.

I have the super heavy Elite XL elbow sleeves and can’t use them I can’t get them over my forearm. I’m 5’6", 230 pounds, with around 17.5 inch upper arms. The stiffness in these sleeves is just ridiculous. It seems they have updated their sizing chart now and I should be in a XXXL.

The stiffness on these things are ridiculous. I never got them on so I don’t know what kind of bounce or rebound you get out of them, but I’m sure it would be decent as far as sleeves go. In any event, they’re too small for me and if anybody’s interested, I’d be willing to part with them for a fair price.

I had the same ones and ended up returning them for the regular heavy duty pair and even those are REALLY stiff. I can’t imagine the super heavy duty ones would be comfortable enough to wear for a whole workout.

I am 5’6, 210 lbs and the XL’s were the same when I got them. Returned them for a pair of 3X’s. We will see how they go when they get here next week. Left arm is 18" and right is 17.5". I want somewhere between Rheband-style warming and knee-wrap-around-your-elbow support out of them, haha.

Out of interest when you reordered and got a pair of heavy elbow sleeves, at 185lbs and 16.5 inch arm which size heavy elbow sleeves did you get? Large or XL?

Also I started another thread on this section because I forgot about this ongoing thread! But I was wandering whether anyone had bought a pair of the EFS Super Heavy Knee sleeves?

I weigh 210-215 and have a 14.5 inch knee and calf measurement (yeah they’re tiny!) but I can pull up a pair of the EFS Heavy Sleeves in the Large size reasonably easily. So I’m wandering whether I should order a Large for the Super Heavies or go up to XL because they are so much tighter?

Thanks

Stats: 5’8" 180

Best Lifts: 405 DL

Gear Experience: None

Equipment being reviewed: Maroon/Black Convict 2m Knee wraps (No Velcro)

Pros: Tight and stays in place. I definitely feel the rebound in the bottom

Cons: Very restrictive. Being the first time with wraps, difficult to wrap tightly. Left them on for 4 mins and felt like my calf’s were going to explode

Thoughts: Well I do really like these and I feel once I break these in I will be able to get more comfortable with them. I also see why powerlifters have no hair on their legs

Wraps are meant to be worn only for your lift. If you are looking for warmth and some light compression then knee sleeves would be a good alternative (can be worn at all times).

Stats: 5’8 225 lbs, Strongman & Powerlifter

Gear Experience: Inzer, APT, Rehband, Tommy Kono, Metal, Titan.

Equipment being reviewed: Tommy Kono Knee Sleeves (from APT)

Pros: Great warmth, light compression, knees felt great.

Cons: Very hard to get on. (try turning them inside out - works much better)

Comparison: They are a bit warmer than cloth sleeves and allow for great mobility; less support than APT convict pro’s but knees feel good. Helped to resolve some minor tendonitis.

Thoughts: I would recommend these to someone who is looking for joint warmth or something that they can play sports in; very versatile. For extremely heavy lifting the cloth sleeves are typically my choice - but I have gone as high as 425 lbs on the front squat with these and knees felt great.

EDIT:
Here is the final story. The super heavy sleeves were way to stiff I ended up opting for the heavy sleeves and they are still by far the tightest and most supportive sleeve I have ever used. I only keep them on for my working sets and switch to my older ones for my accessory work since they are so tight!

I was actually going to order some tonight. Do you have any idea what your upper arm measurement is?

Flexed arm measurement is 16.5" at the widest part. Hope that helps. I am pretty sure that they have the bodyweight sizing chart fixed on the site right now.

Along these lines, I had to return the Super Heavy EFS Knee and Elbow sleeves yesterday; both XXXL. I could not get the elbow sleeves further than an inch past my elbow (with two people to help), and I managed to muscle the knee sleeves on, but they quickly turned my calves purple. Talked to Rhonda at customer service, she said they’re still having issues sorting out the sizing.

For reference, I am 270lbs with approx 20inch arms flexed and 30 inch thighs.

For what it’s worth, they looked and felt like they were built for some serious asskicking. Hopefully they come out with some bigger sizes.

I haven’t seen this thread in too long. Based on size and weight I ordered the XL earlier this year. Immediately sent them back for the XXL. Even those are still a bit too tight. Im hoping despite the several months gap that elite will take them back and exchange me for some XXXL’s. Heck they didnt even have 3XL when I ordered the XXL. I think they should go by arm size rather than bodyweight. I do like their new sizing chart a lot better.

Glad I bothered to go through this thread. I’m just about to order the EFS Heavy Elbow Sleeve size XL. Upper arm measures 17.5, so from your review, Stronghold, and Apostate … does that mean I should be getting the 3XL instead?

I am buying for the same reason Apostate was, 5/3/1 is beating up my elbow!

I purchased them for the same reason (elbow pain). Sad thing is, after I returned them, I picked up some elbow sleeves for like a buck from the store. Just enough to keep the heat in and keep my elbows from killing me. These sleeves (EFS’s) were extremely rigid and I assume (never got them both on at the same time; see my post above) that they would give a pretty serious rebound out of the hole. I would recommend a less expensive sleeve alternative that holds enough heat to keep the elbow loose and lower pain. If that isn’t enough, just drop the weight until you heal.

The rebound from the heavy sleeves kinda defeats the purpose of 5/3/1 (kinda like using handwraps to pull bigger deads). Just my .02

Just get the TK sleeves.

Might be too late. I put the EFS sleeves on my Christmas ‘wish list’. I think my wife ordered them already.

gear experience: inzer z wraps, apt black mambas, red devils

gear reviewed: apt black mambas 2m

Pros : thick solid wrap with good coverage, good rebound , provides good bulk behind the knee

cons: will leave giant bruises with a comp wrap, hard to tie off , take a while to break in.

Gear reviewed : nike Romaleos (don’t ask how i got em)

pros : solid shoe with no side flex ,killer support around the heel of the foot, super grippy , adjust well to lifters foot for comfort.

Cons: damn near impossible to find in the states, super grippy hard to adjust feet at all once with heavy weight, high price.

squat:700 in comp

Gear reviewed :old school do-win squat shoes ( red and white)

Pros : good entry level lifting shoes , cheap ,take a beating, forgiving in terms of foot movement during set up.

cons: straps are to long , heel on my model is a little to big for powerlifting squats ( this has changed with newer models)

Gear Experience; Titan Titanium Knee Wraps 2.0m, EliteFTS Super Heavy Knee Wraps 2.5m

Gear Reviewed; EliteFTS Super Heavy Knee Wraps 2.5m

Pros; Great rebound, Super Stiff, Fairly Cheap, Solid Black, Do not cut off circulation for how tight they can be.

Cons; Hard to finish wrap due to stiff side wall of wrap, People wrapping will not pull tight enough for maximum effect of wraps.

Comparison; Compared to the Titan Titanium’s, the EliteFTS Wraps are supreme. These wraps give more rebound, can be wrapper MUCH tighter, and allow for more leg ‘breathing’ while worn. I’m able to wear these wraps for about 15minutes, as tight as possible, and still not have my lower legs die or go numb.

Thoughts; I love 'em, I’ve only worn them about 5 times, and they have not lost the spring, i actually think that they are getting more springy. Gotta get them!

You can wear these for 15 minutes straight, and the titan ones aren’t as tight? Let me wrap you and you won’t wear them for one minut.

Elite FTS regular heavy elbow sleeves:Honestly these just make my elbow not hurt, a little tougher than my regular APT ones to get on but I wear them for close grip and I get no pain at all. I am told however the super heavies are more like wraps and not really worth the trouble for a raw lifter.

APT wrist wraps: Really just decent in all regards and cheap as dirt, work fine for me at my relatively low level and are solid.

Kono Knee sleeves: Warm, supportive and really easy to get on, had mine for 2 years and they still work fine, I am not looking for rebound so much as comfort and some kind of basic support and these were awesome for it.
