Would Only Dumbbells Be Enough for a Great Physique?

Can I get as big as I potentially can with just dumbbells? I have the opportunity to get 5-50 kg dumbbells at a great price and can order more as I get stronger. Will dumbbells be enough to gain how much ever muscle mass I can possibly acquire as a natural? If so what are the best routines with it?

Yes. The only real difference is you’ll need to do mostly single-leg exercises for your lower body, but if you can get to doing lunges with 50kg dumbbells I guarantee you’ll have better legs that 99% of the people in the world.

thanks for your reply

De nada. I actually think dumbbells are superior to barbells for pretty much every upper body exercise, so you’re not in a bad position at all.

If you can lunge, bench, incline bench, military press, bent over Row, one legged SLDL, and clean and press 50kg dumbbells, you’re strong.

aight thanks so much! I think il go for it, so much more convenient than going to gym as my gym will be below!

You’ll have as good of a range of dumbbells as any commercial gym.

I personally wouldn’t just train with dumbbells tho

the only downside of dumbbells tends to be working in low rep ranges on compound movements, specifically overhead pressing and bench pressing. That’s mostly because it’s hard to get heavy dumbbells in position for those lifts, particularly if you lift alone. If you are only going to train with dumbbells, I highly recommend avoiding bench press and overhead press at anything less than about your 10 rep max. The injury risk gets high at heavier weights.

I have a worker at my home (India has cheap labour lol) so he can help me get those dumbbells in position for these 2 exercises and can go back up to work after em …another plus is that he was a former lifter(had a great physique) so he knows his ways around the gym

people here dont have work, come from nepal and agree to do jobs for the household like cooking and cleaning.

My family’s from Bangladesh. When “butlers” cost 100-200 USD a month (and thats high end), that’s slave labor.

it’s only slave labor if it’s forced. it’s a shitty situation, to be sure, but if people just make shit wages because of a shit economy and an abundance of available labor, that’s what the market dictates. If the butler has the freedom to leave the job and find employment elsewhere, it does not qualify as slave labor.

I’m not condoning the practice of paying anyone less than a living wage. I don’t pay less than 11.00 USD to any employee at my company. Fwiw.

I’d have a slave if I could afford one. They could lift my dumbbells into position and scratch my back.

A back scratch slave would be the absolute apex of luxury.

You forgot to mention the one that will be cooking for you in meanwhile :joy:

Naaa I actually really enjoy cooking so I don’t think I’d have my slave do too much of that unless I was really hungover or something like that.

They’d be cleaning their asses off though, that’s for sure.
