Gotta say you sure as hell tried hard in those videos though lol. Pretty damn strong at 165 now!
I gotta say you give the words Keep Trying a new meaning to me. Great Work effort.
How in the Hell did this turn so fast?
I was ready to post that those first videos must’ve been done as a joke by this Max guy. But apparently he’s real.
Wow, he cleaned up his form. A deadlift over 3x bodyweight is damn impressive and you made it look easy. Kudos
Max, I was hangin around during the first thread here about you. Many of us honestly thought you were in for some serious injuries in the very near future. Are you sure some german scientists didn’t weld an adamantium frame to your skeleton one night when you were sleeping? Regardless, your form looks good now and it’s obvious your drive is still there. Good luck in the future man.

Max have you ever considered doing gear and getting your deadlift up to the 700’s at a higher bodyweight?
Also how is your upper body strength coming along?
Always good to see your latest vids, pretty darn impressive.
Hi,
First of all: this thread was made in the excercises section as to show beginners how not to lift. However, the moderators moved it to the ‘Get a life (off topic)’ section. (On the contrary, it was made an instant sticky topic on bb.com - perhaps due to the different nature of the boards). The thread is ment to focus on form and not strength (so it doesn’t matter whether you were strong back then with attrocious form or now with attrocious form).
To DieselWeasel: your videos have been floating on the internet since 2005 since you published them yourself back then and attacked anyone who dared to criticize your form.
Here’s 3 more videos:
Youtube description: “This is a close-up of another disgusting attempt. You can almost count the number of spinal discs in his back as he bends it like a horseshoe to take hold of the barbell. Although the last thing you want him to do from this crumpled position is to lift the bar, he suddenly raises it to his knees and turns his body into a convulsing pulp that is about to launch his lumbar discs straight through the ceiling.”
Youtube description: “This time he’s lifting out on the street with gruesome form. He starts with a deadlift with his back bent like a fiddle-bow, then moves on to bent-over rows and he ends with the most attrocious biceps curl I’ve ever seen in my life. A driver who passes by slows down his car immediately when he sees the hernia awaiting this guy in the near future.”
Youtube description: "I developed some back pain just from uploading these videos. Again, he goes out of his way to show that he can use poor form on every lift ever invented by mankind. He arches his back so much it actually becomes a flat bench press and he turns this excercise into a full body workout that involves the spine, abs and legs as well.
Definetly impressive forget the haters your stronger than most of them. My philosohpy … make every mistake except not trying hard enough. Works for me and worked for you. The guys makeing mistakes and learning are the successful ones not the nerds who read every article on here and post criticisms inbetween rounds of world of war craft.

Warcraft is one word, n00b! And it’s WoW.
pwn’d
Everything about this guy screams “legend”.
Driveway Deadlifts & Log Rows, slippery hang cleans, 74lb dumbbells, all of it.
It makes the story that much better that he’s a legit powerlifter now.
wow this thread took a turn i didn’t see coming.
I agree with ADvanced, a legend.
As for the vids being useful for beginners, c’mon as satire yes but not for correct form. I’ve trained lots of people to squat and DL and never seen anyone come even close to those absolute atrocities. Max is (was) so exaggeratedly bad there is no way you can learn from that. Most people are either laughing their asses off or have their eyes closed like in a scary movie.
Jamesbidon, whatever reason you have for posting the vids, thanks they are great entertainment but don’t try and say they are for training purposes.
i partly agree with you dianab. I also pissed my pants a couple of times while watching his videos. Yet I still think they can be useful for training purposes as these videos are just the epitome of bad form - you can clearly pinpoint all the things you shouldn’t do if you don’t want to get yourself into a wheelchair. if there’s one source to be used to illustrate beginners what bad form is, it are the videos of diesel weasel.

I think it was in terribly poor taste for you to single out this man. I think it was in even worse taste to not give credit where it’s due: he is now a top deadlifter. It is further even worse that, if your intention was to show beginners how “not to lift” that you did not at least contact Max first (easily done) and ask for permission in utilizing his videos to demonstrate as such.
goochadamg: he published these videos himself to be judged on bb.com in 2005 (look up ‘Diesel Weasel lifting journal’ - epic thread with almost 100.000 views) and he got banned from there and other forums (including this one) because he flamed anyone who criticized his form. I don’t care about his strength. Sure if you want to hear it: he lifts a lot for his bodyweight right now, he also lifted a lot back then for his bodyweight, yet the form with which he lifts these weights is just attrocious
And I get lower back issues even with strict form ??? How can you NOT destroy your spine doing that??

You seriously need to find a hobby. I heard of something called weight training. You should try it! LOL
That’s what I thought, you still lift with sh***y form. Rounded back and all.
Oh well, if it works for you, then be it.
Nice loads though…
Nice rounded back.
