Power rack, strong adjustable bench. Thats it.

On this very topic: I’m considering putting a gym in the second bedroom of my basement apartment and have been scoping out inexpensive/small racks. Anyone have any suggestion?
If I’m going to be the only one using it, has anyone ever tried putting together a rack out of 2x4s that’s just not adjustable? Just curious.[/quote]
I’ve seen some very well built power racks with a lat tower/row attachment for a very reasonable price, around $1000 if I remember correctly. Just have to look around a bit
i got a really sturdy one thats nice and wide and with a chin bar for 500$ on bodybuilding.com, flame away but its really good, you can substitute the pegs on the bottom for real long ones and use as band attachments.

I built a squat rack out of 2x4’s. It’s in my 11x13’ spot in the house, with a bench and a treadmill (not that it gets used-haha) and there’s a few feet left to DL between the rack and bench.
My home gym is the best small gym i’ve seen. Power rack with chin-up and dip, flat bench. Tyre drags on the street. Done.
There isn’t a movement or a body part I can’t train. And it feels good not to have any shitty irrelevant machines around.
