Also it was my bday on the 25th so I’d just like to say thank you to all of those who I’ve met here and who have been kind enough to share their experience/knowledge with me and who have been there to watch me grow. Started here as a young clueless 15 year old and now I’m an 18 year old… still pretty clueless kid hahaha, but life starts for me soon. On track to graduating early and heading to EMT school, then to fire school and hopefully come out as a firefighter in the next year or two!

Strict Press was awesome! Deadlift on the other hand went to hell in a hand basket FAST. Comp prep fatigue is catching up to me after going on some rampant PR spree the past 5 weeks lol. Waking up 190-192 in the AM, 5 weeks deep into prep and should’ve known better than to push into the 500’s. Decided to drop to 4 plates for my backdowns but that 505 took muchhhhhh more out of me than expected. Was gonna be 2x5 but pulled it for a painful 3 and decided to just call it there.

11/27/20- Suit Deadlift Shenanigans.

Stopped there because I’m 3 weeks out from comp and this session was completely unplanned/I shouldn’t have done it lol. Really cool feeling to use the suit for the first time. It plays well with my weakness off the floor and strength at/above my knees. Could see an easy low to mid 600 pull in the suit after using it some more. Sadly I talked to my coach and he said it’d be best to leave the suit out of the equation for this contest. Which I’m okay with because that thing felt like hell to wear and made me extremely slow to get to the bar.
BW Sitting at 186-187 in the AM’s now. No more heavy deads until competition time, one more heavy log/stone session next week and then it’s time to get ready to go compete.

Anddddd we’re back to it. Decided post comp to take a break from the forum to focus on me and my lifting.
Comp Recap-
5th/7 overall in LW opens, made some rookie mistakes but at the same time performed to the best of my ability! Best event of the day there was farmers, took 2nd place with 250 a hand and placed behind josh kowalewski (5th strongest LW in the world) by .8sec or something like that. Worst event by far was log… which is one of my best events. Could only take 230 for a double. Sandbag was good, placed middle of the pack. Deadlift and Stones were sub par placing. Still had a blast though and met some fucking awesome people too.
Training recap since comp. Took a week to relax, then went back to normal training. Taking full advantage of the rebound from 181 and a month and few days later I’m already back to 191! Me and my coach had a mutual agreement to put on some major size this year. Gonne be sitting at a swell 220/100kg BW by the end of the year if all goes to plan.

1/30/21- Off program
Thinking I got 4 plates/425lbs on the SSB now, 365lbs moved too easy. Went in to train my friends on my off day but got sucked into a foolish pissing match.
SSB correlates stupidly to my deadlift so this kind of improvement on the SSB can only mean good things for my deadlifts.
