After next week itās competition prep time! Beasts of bluegrass, 175 weight class for me, december 13th.
Events are:
Log Clean & Press Away- 230lbs/105kg x60sec
Farmers Walk- 250lbs/113kg x50ft/15.25m
Deadlift Ladder- 495lbs/224kg ~ 545lbs/247kg ~ 585lbs/265kg (without strapsā¦)
Sandbag Sled Medley- 50ft/15.25m course: 220lbs/100kg sandbag, 265lbs/120kg, throw them on a sled and drag them back.
Stone Series over 52"/1.3m: 245lbs/111kg ~ 285lbs/129kg ~ 300lbs/136kg
Pretty confident in my ability on log. Iāve walked heavier farmers for 50ft so I just need to be fast, deadlift ladder I might run into some trouble with 585lbs but Iāll give it a go regardless, sandbag medley Iām confident in because Iām a professional at eating shit, and stones are something I know I have the strength to do, I just need to make sure my overall endurance allows me to by the end of the show.
Yes.
Also, deadlift ladder on regular bars, or is it gonna be on a 5 inch diameter axle or something equally as dumb?
2 normal bars and then a deadlift bar for the heaviest weight.
Sweet. Iām thinking about competing. Looks really awesome.
how could you stop before tearingā¦ahaha I ended up tearing mine on dynamic days ahaha

Session left me thrashed.
@T3hPwnisher @strongmanvinny2
For sandbag/sled drag medleys like this, whatās the usual top placing times you see? (If youāve had anything like this in a comp)
Hey man, appreciate the tag, but itās so specific of a medley that I really couldnāt say what top time would be. Just gotta be the guy in the lead, haha.
Fast as fuck my dude, fast as fuck. Think of every micromovement being broken down to maximize efficiency. If you can, pick the sandbag while moving - donāt just pick it, then begin running.
Iām a big fan of trying to one motion bags to the chest in a bent over row-esque movement and just taking off in the middle of the movement. I recommend you time all your sets but donāt go as fast as possible until your final few sets. Try to beat the fastest times each week.
