Workout Music

What’s some good music that gets your heart beating and gets you in the lifting mindset?

I listen to anything really but Henry Rollins, The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim go well with weights. I also like the song Leftfield by Phat Planet or is it the other way around? ever since I heard it on a Guiness commercial way back.

My must have playlist for my mp3:

  1. Mother - Danzig
  2. Walk - Pantera
  3. Denial - Sevendust

You should be ready to move some plates after you hear these songs.

Okay, since I was in high school in the early 90s, my list is grunge-heavy. I’ll listen to anything by Pearl Jam (especially “Go” and “Animal” from Vs.), Soundgarden, etc. Stabbing Westward seems to do the trick for me, too. I’ll also put NIN on the list, and second the Rollins band nomination.

I tend to rotate between System of A Down and Disturbed.

System of a Down, Disturbed, Slipknot, Metallica, DMX

System, Disturbed, Rage, Pantera, NIN, old Metallica.

Nonpoint’s first album, Statement. Ill Nino’s first album, Revolution Revolucion. Slipknot.

The new slipknot gets me going. Chevelle, Slayer, Machine Head, Killswitch Engage.

K-Rock radio in NY city is playing a bad ass song mixing Jay-Z’s 99 problems with Likin Parks One Step Closer. Don’t remember the web site where you can hear it.

An awesome song for workin out is Disturbed - Down with the Sickness. The intro is killer.

chimaira, old slipknot, mudvayne, raunchy, byzantine, 36 crazyfists, in flames, haste the day

For me i go wtih a range of music, DMX, harder songs from D 12, linkin park, payable on death, anything with a good beat, i listen to the local rock station which gets me pumped, and disturbed with liberate, sickness, and prayer. and before football games a great song is Hit -em (forgot who wrote it) it goes, hit em high… hit em low in the chorus, then i listen to bonecrusher’s never scared, a remix, then the football remix. and thats about it, but im open to anything.

Just the music the gym plays, I’m too low brow for fancy music playing machines

my top songs are

  1. unsung - helmut
  2. i will be heard - Hatebreed
  3. anything by metallica, mudvayne, slipknot, NIN and iron maiden

Bad Religion, Flogging Molly, old Led Zep (I and II, mostly), Offspring, select Chili Peppers, and of course, to get me out of the whole on that last squat, AC/DC-- preferably “Back in Black” or “Shook.”

I like to listen to old rock AEROSMITH
GUNS&ROSES .Get my point stuff that is
hard and ruff.

Keep Hanging&Banging
juice for life

My favorites include:

The Cro-Mags “Age Of Quarrel”
Bad Brains “I Against I”
Biohazard "New World Oder
Madball “Demonstrating my style.”
Anything by Sick of it all
or Agnostic Front

Mike Mahler

AC/DC- Thunderstruck
Zeppelin - Immigrant Song
Sabbath - Iron Man
Skynyrd - Freebird
Soundtrack to Conan

Hatebreed, In Flames, God Forbid, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Fear Factory, Avenged Sevenfold. Fast with lots of yelling and screaming! Henry Rollins has a radio show here in LA, he is nuts!

Fast, pounding, and hard works best for me when I need to get pumped for hitting the gym after work, so I rotate b/w Metallica, Pantera, and Fear Factory. On the other end of the sprectrum, techno works awesome as well.
