âFrederick and colleagues also asked 141 college women to look at six standardized silhouettes of men ranging from brawny to slender. Most preferred a toned man who was more likely to commit over a muscle-bound man they perceived as more volatile, aggressive and dominant.â
lol
It always amazes me that people get paid to state the obvious.
Yet this topic has been debated to death on this very forum with a seeming majority of people saying: âWomen find muscles gross.â
Iâm not surprised.
I like the pic they used.
First thing that came into my mind when I saw that pic was âOPEN YOUR MOUTH BABY, HERE IT COMESâ
That article is largely confusing. The beginning says one thing. However the end leads you to believe something else.
It says Muscular men are likely to get more sex.
Then at the end it says less muscular men are preferred over muscle bound men which are perceived as volatile and dominant.
It doesnât say what the less muscular men are preferred for.
However we are 100% positive that studies show that more muscles = more sex, I guess thats good enough for me.
I did a âstudyâ of my own a few years back using 8 attractive college freshman that are dancers at the studio I work at. I showed them the old HOT-ROX flyers that got sent out with your order years back. You know, the ones with Thibs looking all hot and stuff?
Well anyway, the general consensus was that he was:"gross, disgusting, too muscular"and so on. I inquired deeper and asked if they just found him unattractive in general. Most said that they found his facial features to be very attractive(itâs because heâs bald, chicks dig bald guys)while most commented on disliking the rest of him.
So take out of that what you will. IMO, when it comes to what you look like physically, most girls seem to want Brad Pitt in Fight Club. Thankfully, most women arenât like men(at all)and donât put the same emphasis on physical characteristics. Want proof?
Go to the mall and count all the babes clinging on to the ugly bahstid whose dick is the size of tic-tac and has more money and all of us. Bring a pencil and some paper. Or a calculator.

Well said!

Yes it does actually. It said women preferred less muscular men when it came time to settle down.
So muscular men get to fuck em, and skinny guys get to marry em. Thatâs a win win for muscles!
They did a thing on this study on good morning america this morningâŠ
They did their own âinvestgationâ and brought a picture of some dude doing a 1 arm curl with a dumb look on his face and one of there young âscrawnyâ interns in PERSON not a picture, than asked women in a park who they would prefer. OF COURSE the women are going to say the guy who is actually there.
Some said they wouldnât mind a fling with the âbrawnyâ guy but the âscrawnyâ guy they would settle down with becuase he would âhave more depth, not be so shallow, be more succesfull, and smarterâ ???
They than made a joke about how the intern vowed to NEVER set foot in a gym EVER again after the responses they got.
I hate pieces like this⊠they obviously set it up to skew it the way they wanted (to make their general audience fell better and justify why they are lazy.) By using a cheesy picture of the bodybuilder and using a live person for comparsion, which the women would not want to hurt his fellings and not seem shallow by picking him.
They should have used two NORMAL pictures.
Either both with a shirt on or both with no shirt.
It was funny when the dumb asain women said it dosnât really matter how someone looks as long as they have good hearts and minds, and dumb Al Rouker called her out on it and said her husband is 6â5" and a âbuiltâ 240
Seems most of you guys did not read the article to carefully. They are describing to situations.
They said when looking for a sexual relationship, they look for more muscular men.
When looking for a lasting relationship they look for a more slender man.
In general women are attracted to muscles, just like men are attracted to breasts and arses. However many of you showing some XXXL bodybuilder to some girls are going OVERBOARD. Like comparing a Pamela Anderson to some porn star with ridiculous 36 zzz chest like minka. Plenty of women will prefer LL cool Jâs body over brad pits

I donât agree with that statement at ALL. Women may be attracted to muscle, but in no way shape or form in a similar way in which men are attracted to boobies and bootys.
Thatâs like saying a Pinto is a lot like a Ferrari because they both have 4 wheels.
What kind of women took part in this test? There are many types of women, and the average American female is probably not one that most of us would be attracted to. Donât you think a figure competitor type woman would be more attracted to a muscular guy than a non-threatening toned one?

All I know is that I donât see a lot of really muscular guys with ugly, fat-ass women on their arms. This reality is ignored only by the 150 lbâers.
Now, I often see skinny guys with some sexy women, too. A good friend of mine who was 6â, 135 lbs. pulled major ass.
There is no accounting for taste.
You will never hear me say that women are not attracted to skinny bois. Yet little guys are always making generalizations about whom women are attracted to.
Itâs just one of those really stupid debates to have. There are a lot of women out there. Individual women are attracted to all sorts of different types. Duh. I do know though, skinny or not, boldness goes a very long way.
I never trained to to get girls and think people who train to get girls wonât last long in the gym in any event. Once they find the girl they want, theyâll grow old and get fat together.
âHe and colleagues interviewed 99 male undergraduates about their sexual histories. Muscular men were twice as likely to have had more than three sex partners than less-built types.â
This is a shit âexperiment.â
Did they control for variables like confidence? Are muscular men with low confidence still more likely to have had so many sex partners as compared with âless-built typesâ who are confident? What about controlling for symmetry? Do naturally beautiful people feel more need to preserve their beauty and work out? Do ugly people feel a greater need to work out to compensate? Are they more assertive as a result, or more likely to compensate with social skills?
Correlation does not equal causation. It looks like someone failed basic stats or experimental design. I havenât yet figured out if that person is the experimenter or the one who wrote the article.

I see a lot of big strong guys with big girls.

When 80% of them are âbig girlsâ, do you blame that on which guys are big and which are smallâŠor do you blame that on the âbig girlsâ?
Either way, I thought the priorities were:
Money
Makes me laugh
Money
Looks (including physique)
I have a hard time believing most guys built like running backs simply canât find good looking womenâŠespecially if they happen to be professional football players.
I also know no woman is going to tell the truth if asked face to face in public (especially with other women around unless Sex and The City is being taped) what she likes in a man.

I have too. I agree with the rest of the post though. Plenty of good-looking women like muscular guys. And many others prefer less muscular. What Iâve found to be universally true is that women like lean. Note to newbies: if your goal is to gain muscle, this does not mean you should stay super lean all the time. Sacrifices will have to be made.
All I kept doing reading this thread was glancing at the date. Because I can swear that this has been talked about before.
Am I in a time warp? The topic is as stupid as the last time it came up.
