Wobenzym-N for Faster Recovery?

Has anyone else heard of this supplement or used it to help speed recovery while training?

I can not speak for the specific product, but can talk a little intelligently about enzymatic recovery. Many rapid recovery products provide suppliments laced with enzymes. The digestive enzymes (Protease - protein), Amylase (Carbs.) and Lipase (Fats) breaks the food particles down quickly and make them bio-available. It is a good plan to use them provided the quality is high and they are plant sourced. They are merely catylists. However, if you are not eating right, to begin with they will not help at all.

Animal based enzymes work at a pH of about 8.0 to 9.5. Since your blood, when at perfect pH is 7.35 to 7.4, you'll likely just pee it all out. Plant enzymes work between 4.0 and 9.0, so they are more likely to benefit you.

The other aspect of supplimentation that is often ignored, is the source and quality. The tableting materials are also an issue, if you move from capsules to tablets. Many (GNC products, IMHO - Crap)use a Calcium Silicate (undigestable). Really hard stuff that you will poop out before it breaks down to be used by the body.

Hope this helps.
