When you guys diet down, where do you get lean first? The reason I ask is because I have been dieting and dieting, and I’m now at the point where my arms are pretty lean and vascular (still room for improvement, but lean nonetheless),… and I can even see some vascularity in my legs under certain lighting conditions. However, my F’in chest and abs are still COVERED with a thick, “pinchable” layer of fat. In fact, my pectoral skinfold has not changed in MONTHS. I appear to not be losing fat at all from my upper torso. My lower back fat is also not changing it seems. Its all very frustrating. I read in a past article on T-mag that studies done with elite Army Rangers showed that fat loss occurs from “the inside out” i.e. the arms and legs are the last to lose fat. Well if that’s true, then what the hell is going on in my case?
Don’t worry, I am the same way. I get lean and vascular in the arms and legs first. I even have veins in my legs before I lose fat on my stomach. I’m still not able to lose all the fat on my chest, lower stomach, and lower back at 8% bodyfat. It’s something I just learned to live with. Maybe if I get under 8% but haven’t gotten that low yet. Good luck.
i’d say your diet needs adjustment… I’d check on your calorie intake and also your carb/protein/fat ratio. You might want to try doing sprints first thing in the mornings before you eat to kick in some fat catabolism…it’s a slow process too. I’ve heard that a lb and a half of fat per week is like the max you should go. So if you have 20 lbs to go and it sounds like you have that… look forward to 20 more weeks of good dieting before you’re really lean (because you’ll probably only do the 1lb). And if you’re doing more than one cheat meal a week… you’re shooting yourself in the foot.
Extremety fat has more to do with training and ephedra. Torso fat is closer related to diet and yohimbe.
