But I’ll train properly anyway this afternoon I think. It’s not as bad as yesterday. It’s mostly my quads actually, which to be honest Im really happy about! Never get this from regular squatting. Ever.

Went to my wife’s gym for a change, and to keep her company as her mates are both away.
Rower first up.
Slow 500m,
Then a Flat out 250m in 42 seconds.
Rested 5 minutes and did a less flat out 250m in 48 seconds (more because I could go any faster hahha). It’s not a bad pace for someone that doesn’t do it IMO. Wish I owned one.

There was an elderly gentlemen there watching. Nice bloke. Said he’d never seen anyone load up that much before, and didn’t think it was going to move, let alone that easily.
We had a good chat for a few minutes about the lifting. Was good. Said he always felt most people weren’t trying hard enough in that gym lol. He was having a decent go too at the machines I must say.
Pretty common theme I see in any commercial gym I go to. A real lack of proper effort in training accross the population.
To be fair there are a few serious guys that use this gym, just not many.
Doing something is better than nothing, but I do feel sorry for young guys who you can tell have been sorely misguided in how to train well and with purpose. Results, decent results, are just not going to be a part of their futures.
Probably goes a ways to explaining the rampant p.e.d use in young fellas. ![]()
That is the majority of people in my gym too. The funny thing is the guys who make all the noises and walk around like they are all pumped up but don’t actually train hard at all. So many people doing leg curls and chest machines but no body wants to squat heavy or do full rep bench presses or press a barbell over their head.
Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder…but no body wants to lift no heavy ass weight!

The funny thing is when you think about all best bodybuilders they are generally strong as heck and use big compounds to build that mass and density. I don’t know why all the bros stick to dumbells and machines. Maybe it’s because they are closer to the mirrors.
