As an old timer, I’m sure you’ve seen a number of liquor threads…maybe even as many threads about clothes that don’t fit.
eh?

Yeah. I’ve had friends raving about it for years, finally tried some this fall, and was really impressed. It’s a fantastic fall beer.
I’ll have to keep an eye out for that. I’ve had some other Great Lakes as well (the Edmund Fitzgerald Porter), so I’ll keep an eye out for their Christmas Ale when the time comes.
Oh, I also forgot the Troegenator Doublebock.
Has anyone had sessions beer?

It’s very good. We don’t have it around here, though.
That sounds interesting. I just recently finished a bottle of 18 year. I’d love to try to sherry cask.
I had one of these 3 minutes form my place. It was dangerous. I had a rent payment tab that I’d settle at the end of the month. We moved 20-30 minutes away. I save so much. Lol
I really like it. I’m on my third bottle. I usually get one a year. I agree it’s overhyped, or, probably, the most known by non-scotch drinkers. It’s great, but I agree there are others that could be better. It happens to ft my preferences.
Exactly why I added beer and wine. It’s 2018, In the name of inclusion.
Does anyone drink sour beer or Gose? It’s something I can actually drink.
It’s good. I went from a Laphroig 10yr to the Glenmorangie - I appreciate the peatyness of the Laphroig but really enjoyed the Glenmorangie more. I’m sure you’d like it.
Yea, now that my wife is preggo we don’t go there so much. I usually meet some friends there every so often - especially if they’ve never been. But I don’t think thy appreciate it as much I do - they tend to go for safe bets like Gin and Tonic or something - I like to try different things especially there b/c they’re sooo damn creative and the shit that makes it to their menu is unbelievable.
I love IPA’s and pale ales. When I lived on the East Coast, my favorites were Dogfish Head 60 min, Troeg’s Hopback, and Victory HopDevil. I live in NorCal now, where I drink: Lagunitas, Fieldwork (my favorite out of Berkeley), and other local breweries. My current favorite “session” beer is Pizza Port’s Chronic Ale.
I like red wines, with Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Cab’s my favorite. Lots of wineries up here, obviously, being near Napa. I don’t drink wine that often, but do really enjoy a good red.
I’m not much into hard liquor at all. Maybe I’ll drink a margarita or mojito when I’m in Mexico, but other than that it’s not something I’m as into. I’ve had friends try to get me into whiskey, but it’s just not my thing.
Personally, I enjoy another recreationally legal (in CA) way to relax most nights. I only drink maybe one time a week, but do like a little puff or two at the end of the evening. I’ve found I like higher CBD (non-pyschoactive) strains, which are great for recovering from workouts, sleeping soundly, and overall well-being.
Being from Texas also…
Beer: Dos Equis dressed with a big fat ring of salt and lime juice
Liquor: Gin and tonic or Topo Chico and tequila
You’re lucky you missed the lean years. A few years back it would sell out within days of release. They started making a lot more two years ago, including 12 oz bottles (used to only come in 22s), so it’s a lot easier to get now.
How are the munchies on that? Just curious. Can’t use it anyhow due to company drug policy.
I would weigh 400lb if I used THC regularly. I turn into a savage glutton when high, like one of those dogs that will eat until their stomach ruptures.
Real Ale in Blanco makes one. I personally didn’t care for it. Second only in taste to Pulgue. That shit smells like vomit when open the can.
Shit smelling vomit, yuck.
Not bad. I only use a small amount, usually, and most often at the end of the night when I’m done eating/working. I have a fairly low tolerance to THC, and having more than a small amount just puts me right to sleep. The higher CBD strains will keep me more awake and alert, and I actually prefer them for the most part. You can get them in 1:1, 3:1, 8:1, etc… ratios of the CBD to THC. The higher ratios have almost no psychoactive effects, but still give you a sense of well being, relaxation, and great sleep.
There is one that I really enjoy by Anderson Valley. It’s like $3 at a bar I frequent. They take a special kind of person… I’ve always loved sour things though.
dudeee, got into CBD recently. Bought some Isodyl. so very calming, and the initial warmth in my face feels real nice, but it’s odd cause with all that you’re not getting lifted.
I mix it in and it really reduces any anxiety that comes with the vegetables.
Your mind stays intact, so I don’t think it really causes munchies. A lot of people take CBD and don’t really notice much from it (probably just too small of a dose).
I like to make the analogy that its like taking a handfull of ibuprofen, just very calming and relaxing but your head is still there, driving is no issue.
major cachaca kick for the last little while.
I could drink caiprinhas all day every day
noice - some Brazilian friends always bring back cachaca and espresso as gifts
They have a black IPA called Black Cannon that I would recommend. Slight malty flavor gives it a little more drinkability that a traditional IPA. I spent a whole day at Barcade drinking it and playing old-school arcade games.
If I come across it I’ll give a try … I’d trust they’d put out a good beer. A lot of people in my area (SouthCoast Massachusetts) loooove them some Shipyard beers. I’ve never been impressed by anything they put out.
Picked up the Glenmorangie Quitna Ruban (Port Cask finish) - spicy sweet finish with a hint of peat. Me likey.
