Wife Took a Loan from Her Sister

I’d be more concerned that she lied (although that’s a tough sell with the whole “lie of omission” - women ALWAYS have secrets) than the money, but I don’t think any American can appreciate the social pressure she was under from her community and family - not that that excuses anything… 10K or 12K (whatever the real number is) isn’t THAT much money. But that’s what you get with crazy South American chicks - take if from someone who knows…

Don’t ruin your marriage over it. Just earn more. You can ALWAYS earn more, but you can’t get back time or opportunity. If you have lost neither then you are fortunate. If you divorce her over this you have lost both.

Work it out.
Are you kidding me? These girls aren’t under social pressure to throw $20,000 weddings while lying to their husbands about $12,000. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if this was purely to massage her ego. If you believe these girls are under such pressure, unless they’re from a wealthy family, you’re naive and delusional. I’m thinking her parents would be quite unhappy with her actions too.

I’m a Latino and I can’t appreciate the “pressure” they’re under, the pressure you’re describing doesn’t exist to a woman who’d to take out a loan rather than get the money from her family. Quite telling, isn’t it?

The arrangement is a loan of $10,000 paid at $500/mo for two years - that’s at 2% interest! That’s less than the rate of inflation…

Just sayin’ - it’s not a bad deal (especially for an unsecured loan, I don’t know ANY bank in the US that would give those terms…)
It is MUCH more than 2% dude! Lazy to do the math, but much more.
Also, OP, was there a green card involved in the entire process? If so, think carefully. Was she trying to document the marriage process for the immigration purpose?

Even then, that is a big hole to get into. You should speak with her, find out her reason, and discuss this clearly with her - let her know that if you can not trust her in the future, it is over.

You should have done that in the first place anyway. What sort of advice do you expect from random people on the internet? Will you divorce her if people on T-Nation think you should? And discuss this one on one, there is really really no need for throwing more money on marriage counsellings and shit like that. Just saying.

I hope it works for you - one way or the other.

Yeah, I was smokin the crack with the interest rate, wasn’t I? but it’s still like ~10% That’s not bad for an unsecured loan. I just don’t see 10K as a deal breaker… But whatever - Good luck OP

Can you put this on an excel spreadsheet for me? That’s kind of hard to follow.
You’re welcome.

Oops, -EROS- beat me to it.

$500 a month for 2 years = $12,000 = 20% interest rate.

I am lazy, but not that lazy either  I almost fell for that but knew it did not sound right.

It will take a few minutes to solve it, not that straight.

/Hijack.

It is around 9,5% annually.

As a man gets older (and especially if he has been married in the past) the less total crazy he is willing to put up with, irrelevant of hotness.

The man speaks the truth.

She sounds like a sweetie. So she made a small mistake, what the hell?

You knew she wasn’t perfect and you married her anyways. I’ll be the wedding was nice and probably worth the price. If she asked, you’d’ve given her that anyways.

Just remember that love is an enduring thing. Love never boasts, and will always be there for you.

She probably did this cause of her undying love and devotion and just wanted you to have the best wedding ever.

I say, forgive and forget.

and enjoy the buttsex. She’ll be giving it up to you for a looooooooooooooooooong time!

my $.02
This is the sappiest, corniest, weakest and ga-hay-est post I have read in several years.

Congrats.

Yeah, let’s just forget this woman ran up a 10K debt that BOTH are likely now responsible for without telling him. That sounds like the start if a WONDERFUL marriage.
Uh, I think he had tongue firmly and deeply in cheek X.

It’s not the money. It’s the lie of omission.

Let’s say she had a penis, but a very small one, but she didn’t tell OP about it until AFTER the marriage? And she was in the middle of hormone therapy that would shrink the already small penis over the course of the next two years? Now, do you continue to suck her small penis over the course of the next two years? Or do you address the fact that this cocksucker lied to you about her penis and has now bamboozled you into a marriage and expects you to suck her small penis?

you have to bang the mom, sister, and wife at the same time. Its the only way to clear their equal guilt.

And my internet celebrity grows.

Thanks to those that posted the NPH video, I’m sure I butchered the explanation.

Hey Beans WTF is a fat horse? Is that a good or bad thing? How did this guy see your dick?

Treat your in-laws to dinner. Explain that you wanted to show them how grateful you were for their contribution. Spend the evening reminding them of this. Sit back and watch wife squirm.
