Why Would Somebody Tell Me....

…if I dont put the pad on the barbell when I squat im going to hurt myself?

Because their panties are too tight.

This comes from the same people that tell me it only takes 25 lbs. of pressure to “break” a muscle when I let the bar down onto my neck from overhead lifts. And I’m a pretty gentle letter-downer of bars to the back of the neck.

And what the fuck is “breaking” a muscle?

given their logic every thai boxer would “break” their quads in every fight from the kicks.

So just keep the bar maxi-pad free and you’ll squats better because the bar is closer ot your back, therefore helping you keep a more upright trunk and supporting more weight.

From the looks of your picture there, I would just keep doing exactly that.

Whenever I’ve used the pad I felt like I wasn’t tight enough. It felt like all my squats were half-assed. You might hurt yourself if you were an anorexic schoolgirl thats never shrugged in her life.

because everyone who cant lift shit is a fucking scientist when it comes to bodybuilding and mechanics.

To the OP, how much does that guy squat?

The person who told him this most likely doesn’t squat, because he doesn’t want to ruin his knees. He sticks to the more safe leg extensions.

Ppl in gyms are mostly fags.

Lift in a wife beater, they’ll prolly stfu.

Because they either don’t squat or can’t squat more than 65 pounds.
Seriously, I think the pad hurts you more than helps you. Back when I actually used it, when I first squatted in HS, the thing was ALWAYS sliding down my neck, coming loose and fucking up my whole squat. Who cares if your neck gets all red and hurts after you squat. It only hurts the first 2-3 times you squat with a raw bar. People need to stop being pussies and just do it.
