Good for you. Do you want an award? You are 170lbs. Tell us about how you never eat any high calorie foods like that when you actually weigh that “20-30lbs heavier”. I do believe you have missed the point and I doubt anyone has the time to get you to see what people are saying.
Someone stupid would believe the message is to go eat pizza right now. Someone smarter would understand what is really being said.
I understand your point, and eating pizza would be something that I would consider if I were only worried about gaining weight. However, everyone has different goals, and if I were to be heavier, it would hamper me in my other activities. Your points are valid, but there’s also something to be said for restriction; especially for those who can’t allow for a “move up in weight class.”

Do you feel the same way about all protein powder?
Yup. But if you don’t agree, that’s cool.
It’s not that I don’t agree, I just don’t understand why anyone would be against supplemental and convenient protein sources. Is powder protein somehow inferrior to meat? Different maybe, but I don’t thing “bad.”
Most would agree that powder source protein is fine to use for about 80 grams out of your intake. Nobody should rely on just protein powder, but just like Professor X and others say about pizza, it helps you meet your intake goals…

I would bet that less than 10% of the people on this forum not making significant progress have shit to do with a sport that they compete in with a specific weight class. I would also bet that many would like to use that as an excuse for WHY they aren’t making progress.
You claimed you could “easily” put on 20-30lbs. I am laughing at you. I would LOVE to see you EASILY put on up to 30lbs of lean body mass, or hell, even 20lbs of lean body mass with 10lbs of fat along for the ride. Some of you sure do seem to think building muscle is quick and easy.
That does make me wonder why so few are actually doing it though.

I understand the convenience, but just can’t see the point of buying something processed and packaged to replace a perfectly good natural food source. Would you buy powdered meat? If not, then what’s the attraction of powdered milk protein?
If you need something convenient, cook a big batch of hamburger patties on the weekend and freeze them.
But, as I said earlier, if you like protein powder, that’s cool.

Well, I bet some guys who look pretty big and strong have hardly ever “knocked down” pizzas. Maybe in their youth, before they started to get serious. You can get those calories from “better” sources, so why not?
None that I know.
So you can only get big, strong, and lean by eating pizza? lol
You can’t be this simple. I read this whole exchange earlier, but I couldn’t pass this up now. I eat VERY clean, meaning just about no processed, refined, fast or snack “foods”. However I did have a frosted cookie after my workout a little while ago. DAMMIT!!! set me back 6 months, what the hell was I thinking?
EDIT:
I didn’t see the latter part of this conversation before posting the above. I have to go eat 3 large chicken thighs with the skin now as part of my second PWO meal. I have a feeling my definition of clean is different than yours.

Seriously, why is this stuff so popular? I’m going to gag if I read another dumb question about the stuff. It’s basically protein powder with a ton of fat. You’d be juast as well off using a scoop of Metabolic Drive (Evo Pro) and eating a Hershey’s bar.
Are people really dumb enough to fall for that “lean lipids” nonsense?
This is an honest question. I just don’t get why people are gaa-gaa over this stuff.
Man, I guarantee you, you’d be able to deadlift 400 if you would only get on the friggen Muscle Milk!

Yep, do it all the time. Whole eggs, meat, salmon etc all in the food processor.
See my post about “Anabolic Glop”. It’s gotten bigger since then too.
I know everybody’s different, but I honestly have no problem eating enough of anything. I do use whey pre, peri and post workout BTW as well as sometimes with whole eggs for my first meal, but most of my calories (about 4500 daily now) come from food.
I also am not in any way opposed to intelligent supplementation. Supps are a very useful tool, but way too many guys rely way too heavily on them IMHO.

18 grams of fat per serving is a “ton” of fat? Good God man, I can’t even imagine what you think of people who eat pizza or hamburgers (or even steak for that matter).
There is obviously no such thing as a “lean” lipid (that’s quite the oxymoron)… but you do need lipids in your diet.
As for why people use it, simple: it’s supposed to taste good (and it’s supposed to be pretty decent protein to boot). That makes it more of a meal replacement and purely a protein supplement (which is handy if you what do use it as… well… an actual meal replacement).

Don’t bother trying to make sense of this thread. Bashing Muscle Milk is almost as popular as bashing NOXplode. I’m still waiting for him to explain how he figures that Muscle Milk is “a candy bar w/some quality protein.”

This statement does not compute for me. Wha?
What doesn’t compute? You weigh 150lbs. You have also claimed in the past that you have trouble eating real food. By any chance do you think the fact that you are 150lbs goes hand in hand with your avoidance of real significant calories daily? What was written above means that no one cares how “clean” you claim to eat if you show little to no progress from it. There are people who don’t eat that “clean” (a word that has apparently changed lately into meaning “mostly meal replacements”) who focus on simply getting enough calories down who ARE making progress in the weight room.
If by chance you can get all of your calories from rice cakes and chicken breasts, continue to do so. That becomes much harder to do when you actually get “big”…something no one weighing 150lbs has any clue about.
This is bodybuilding. This is not a contest to see who can eat the most bland food with the least amount of calories every single day. It seems some of you are confused about that. You eat in a way that gives results and extreme changes are not seen with extremely restrictive diets that barely allow any growth to occur at all.
Whoa there feller. What you are saying make sense now with your explanation. However, “No one cares if you never eat pizza if you also don’t look like you lift weights.” implies “People care if you eat pizza if you look buff.” which didn’t make sense to me. I understand what you were trying to say now though.

Maybe you need to work on your jaw muscles. They seem to be underdeveloped relative to the rest of your body.
So? You are saying you lost 50lbs of lean body mass? You were one mountain of muscle before you lost it all for your “sport”?
Probably not, huh? You were more than likely a rather chubby 220lbs as I doubt you went on some catabolic diet to eat up all of that horrible muscle you were carrying around.

I checked out your “Anabolic Glop” post. Was that stuff in the blender your shake or the barfing spree you let out after drinking that crap?
