Why Isn't American Football Watched Worldwide?

HAHAHAHAHA! Football is too boring for the rest of the world, yet they love soccer?!

Football is literally non-stop excitement and BIG HITS getting JACKED UP! by BIG 300lb supermen who get pounded hard.

Soccer is a bunch of effeminate white guys kicking a ball around and nothing ever happens.
Most of the best soccer players in the world are not white.

This is laughable, but we’ll save it for the politics forum.

Good day, sir.

Don’t get me wrong, I respect rugby players, but is this really your poster boy? That link says he benches 495 pounds, and squats 600. He is a beast, and if that were your average then that is great, but the NFL has plenty of people who can do that.

yes agree. But, from your own personal experience, if you wanted to bulk up massively, you would be doing little to no cardio? correct? rugby players have to do TONNES of cardio to be match fit. So they are never going to be as strong or muscular as nfl players, thats obvious.
For emphasis cause people keep on turning my other posts into what they are not.

The op is obviously a troll.

'Cause Rugby is so fucking badass.

There is a reason America has won every war its been involved in, its because we watch masculine violent collision sports like football, not effeminate tennis and soccer and rugby.

Uh…someone needs to go back and read a history book or two.

The OP is an embarassment. These are some of the most ignorant statements I’ve heard since TYPE2B.

For the “football players are pussy for wearing pads” argument, if we didn’t have pads we wouldn’t be able to hit like this without killing eachother-

I find it hilarious how the OP says football is non stop excitement…when there’s a 20 second pause for every 5 seconds of play.

To ecoetter: The chinese sprinter comment is a good one, but I feel my comparison is still valid since the average body type in europe and oceania is one well suited to rugby/contact sport in general, whereas the average body type in china is not exactly an ideal “speed physique”.
ecoetter wrote:

Though I disagree that a comparison should be made - as aforementioned in my previous posts - but, for the sake of argument, how does your rugby locker room stack up?

-Eric
Just for fun, I’ll throw out my highschool rugby team’s locker room for this.
Average height: probably about 5’10’‘- 6’
Avg weight: sub 200, our biggest guy was about 230.

(realize this is Canadian highschool sport, the talent pool isn’t quite what it is in the US)
Now for some other statistics:
Total points for and against for season: 600+ for, 3 against, in a season of about 8 games. I shit you not. I remember 3 separate games that ended 98-0 for us, and were scored on once (a lucky kick) before the provincial final game.

This is just to reinforce that it’s really not possible to make a comparison between the 2 sports, they’re very different. Rugby doesn’t have 300lb monsters because 300lb guys just aren’t all that good at rugby. Plenty of teams in the City had big guys, but they were pretty useless after the first quarter.

polo77j You made my day!

Your post and video had me in stitches…!

There is a simple way of deciding this: a deathmatch between Terry Tate and Mariusz Pudzianowski.

The average height in the NFL is 6’1 and the average weight is 242lb.

What is it for rugby?

I’d be willing to bet its 5’10 and 190lb.

For soccer, I’d bet its 5’8 and 150lb.

Americans are simply bigger and stronger, thats why we dominate all strenght competitions.
Didn’t China just win like EVERY gold medal in weightlifting at the Olympics???

Those weights sound about right for the an under 19’s rugby side, lol.

And all the boys in the links can run & tackle all day long… without a break every 10 seconds.

And anyways Rugby League is like 10x harder phyiscally then Rugby Union, although the rah rah boys are bigger, their game is also more tactical and more of a team game, while League is just more physical.

Just ask any of the recent converts, SBW included.

No doubt that NFL players are monsters and its an amazing game. I dunno tho, i’m not in US and it’s still my fav thing in the world to watch, in fact i’ve grown to think every other sport sucks now. Nothing can compete with the action. Why no everyone agrees… i’ve often wondered also.

Show me an NFL player that can run for 80 minutes with very few breaks, take hits with no pads. Play offense and defence back to back. Run the plays on the fly without a playbook or anyone shouting the plays out and then we can have a conversation about this.

Nothing against NFL by the way, I love watching it. The reason that other countries don’t need US sports is because they already have the sports that US sports were based on. And they are able to play them against pretty much any country in the world.

Different game. I don’t give a crap about rugby. I like my violent collision sports.

The hits are no where near the same in football as rugby. guys don’t hit as hard in rugby. Football has much harder hits, because of the pads. They protect the hitter a lot more than the hittee.
You also might want to mention that in football you’ll often have an entire line where the smallest guy is 6 foot 3 285 pounds - they tend to hit hard at that size. No comparrison to the little guys in rugby
