And I mean percentage carbs, fats and proteins. Is no one interested in optimal eating to gain lean tissue?
60% carb/25%fat/15%pro? At least that’s how you make it seem.
This is not a macro split for lean gains. It’s a recipe to get fat.
Maybe expand a little bit on this. Why would you think this is good?
On a 2500cal diet that would only be 93f protien.
I think studying human nutrition would be of benefit to you if you think you get fat on carbs. A slightly higher protein intake may help add some muscle but is generally a bit of a scam
What you have listed is the macro split for the typical American diet. High fat. High carb. Low protien. How has that worked for us?
I never said you get fat on carbs. I said you get fat on the macro split you laid out. The protien you have laid out would prob not be enough to hold onto the muscle you already have.
In your initial post you give 0 fact or talking points to back up your question.
What don’t you explain why this is a recipe for lean muscle tissue to be built?
You’re fun. The question is why is no one talking about the optimal diet. Who said I was recommending this diet? Why don’t you explain why this split wouldn’t hold onto muscle? Why don’t you explain why another macro split would be better?
You raised the subject. Why don’t YOU explain why you’re pushing a diet from the 60s… the same way you dress btw. Please explain why you think this is the optimal muscle building diet?
cough CICO cough, lift weights. repeat.
Most of the rest is mental masturbation. And cough salesmanship. Sorry site that sells expensive supplements.
The way I dress… lol… that’s hilarious. The photo in my avatar is over 40 years old. BTW: Are you able to DISCUSS diet? READ above. Who said I was pushing this diet? It’s an Aunt Sally.
Surely by calling a diet optimal you’re pushing it!!
By starting a thread asking why we’re not talking about it…you’re pushing it.
Don’t treat people like they’re stupid, it makes you look stupid
It was at this moment that I wished this site had the facebook laughing emoji as a response.
@Jeff60 I feel like this topic is going in two different directions. Is your question “why is no one discussing 60/25/15”, is your question “why is no one discussing the optimal diet?”, to include WHAT could that diet be, or is it “Why is no one discussing 60/25/15, which IS the optimal diet?”
I feel like OP didn’t get enough attention from their parents as a child.
Getting fat is not based on carbs, fats or protein
its based on too many calories
Or it can be hormonal
and someone brought up the 60s, the average person in the 60s was a lot thinner than the average person today and i would say its because we each too much
hormonal still comes down to calories…
Though by the very definition of “too many” we can abide by this, it’s also worth considering information like this
I can only speak for myself
I gained fat by eating only steak and eggs (2 ribeyes and six eggs)…went from 215 to 230
got back down to 210 with a goal of 200 by summertime by implementing the 60/20/20 (carbs/fat/protein) and calorie restriction
but like i said…its what works for me
Ah, well yeah: that’s protein AND fat.
The OP is fat and out of shape. That is all one needs to know.
These Darden fans are like cult members.
Agreed…but i do not have the disclipline to do just protein
therefore, carbs, fat and protein works…it’s a disclipline i can partake in
the only limitation is how much
I just did what competitive bodybuilders did.
Eat six meals a day
About half pound of lean meat the meals that followed breakfast which was 7 whole eggs.
Starch that was regulated by feedback from the mirror and strength on major compound lifts.
That worked pretty good for me. I had a foundation of minimum meal protein intake. I got plenty of fat at breakfast. Too much starch wouldn’t allow muscles to show. Too little starch caused me to lose strength. That worked for me. But I suppose my muscle mass gave me a distinct advantage in that I burnt more calories sleeping than most burn in the gym.
What more would I need to know to get lean?
BTW, by my method of dieting it is carbohydrates that “made me fat”
