On the subject, I can say that, in my opinion, racism will always exist. And it does not need to be expressed in violence or direct insults to the person concerned. It can even mean that in your eyes this person is inferior to you, in terms of intellect, mind or abilities. If you feel that way just because of the color of his skin, you are racist. You may be a good person and mean no harm, but you are a racist.
America literally glorifies the Mafia. White criminals are cult heroes to white America. Its why Sopranos, Breaking bad, Goodfellas etc are firmly rooted in the cultural zeitgeist. White criminals were put on a pedestal in white poor communities in the same way hood starts are today in black communities. Go look up how white philly people reacted to Bruno being killed. Open hero worship for a guy who sold drugs and pimped women and had dozens of people executed.
Italians didn;t stop idolozing the mob, they just were accepted into white society and become succesful in other ways. Once white america stops fucking with the bla k community we will see that same transition.

And for the record, nobody glorifies the mafia. Maybe some Jersey Shore Italians with an uncle but it’s a limited scope. It’s more like a freak show that creates good entertainment, like the show Snowfall or The Wire.
What do you propose for TV shows? Waking up at the first alarm, eating a sensible breakfast, responsibly getting to work on time, being cordial with a police officer if pulled over, coming home for dinner and maybe some vanilla sex before bed? Episode after episode, with a special episode highlighting a weekend trip to the golf course? Steve Urkel and The Fresh Prince of Bellaire already had their run for the family hour slots.
If this is your evidence of racial bias and deeply rooted cultural racism you’re intentionally looking for it…… where it doesn’t exist. And that’s not denying the existence of racism in general either. Go live your life. Nobody is going to lynch you.

OP’s whole premise and most arguments are flat out queer. There is no racism in America save that against Whites. True, the Mafia IS being glorified - which is deplorable - but they guys usually weren’t even White.
Once we allow ourselves to talk about race in a civil and respectful manner, it’s usually not a problem. But the crux is accepting it’s potency. We are very different. After all, how can diversity be so great if race isn’t a thing? But no matter where you chose to go with this knowledge, the implications are, at this juncture, what both sides of the aisle are unwilling to touch.

We aren’t allowed to. We can’t leave communities considered “black” or it’s white flight and we have to be anti-racist or we’re racist. It’s the perfect catch-22 to keep race an issue for the next 100 election cycles.

I don’t think crazy has a color. Mass shootings are done by people that are waaaaay outside of the norms. Or even the mean for behaviors of people that are diagnosed with psychological disorders.
