Why Is Denial of Racism a Right Wing Issue In the West?

Here comes another one.

So did white people.

Some white people. And their own people hated them for it and occasionally lynched them. Which is why opinion polls done in SA showed the vast majority of whites supported apartheid. And they downplayed racism in SA like the white people in here are mostly doing regarding America…

No please learn to read. The places Rome conquered, the people there moved en masse to Rome. Please read a history book from time to time.

There is a concensus racism exists in America by every philosopher on the fucking planet. Internal and external investigations into the courts, police etc find systemic racism every time. Same for the armed forces.

Proving racism is simply pointing out black men without priors will face double the sentence as white men despite again ALL OTHER FACTORS BEING CONTROLLED FOR. How come someone prove racism to you except by showing you wild differneces in outcomes, incarceration rates etc?

And there are only two options you can believe, its due to socioeconomic factors, or black people are inferior. Why do you personally think black people do far worse than white people in America? Are they genetically inferior or is it socioeconomic conditions?

I am not saying you’re wrong here, but I find the part in all caps to be hard to believe. Are all other factors ever really accounted / controlled for? It is quite hard to believe that they really looked at every single possibility to explain differences in outcome.

I bring this up, because people look at arrest rate or sentencing outcomes and point to racism. They claim that other factors are accounted for, but usually I can think of at least a few things that were not.

Were both the white guy and the black guy tried in the same court? Same judge? Same pool of jurors? Perhaps different location are less tolerant of crime, and black guys happen to be tried in those areas.

Are plea deals being accounted for? Often poorer defendants just take plea deals because they can’t afford a proper defense (which is a problem).

Is the quality of defense being considered? Poorer individuals for example usually don’t have as good of defense as OJ Simpson. You better believe if a middle class or lower white guy did what OJ did, he’d be in prison.

Now, I do think there is a racial component that explains the differences in sentencing. I just don’t know if all factors are considered. I wouldn’t be comfortable saying race is the only thing that got them twice the sentence. It’s been noticed that being conventionally attractive gets you a lower sentence than if you ugly. It has been noticed that women get substantially lower sentences than men for the same crimes.

By that metric, yes.

First, there is some merit to your statement although I believe it to be patently false in most occasions, but I’m sure it has occurred. You have a chicken or egg scenarios here. Black men in the USA and UK commit crimes at a much higher rate than whites. So yes courts and jurors should view each case objectively but that’s also not human nature. So are they incarcerated more due to racism or because they commit more crime?

Hey @castoli711

Zecarlo is saying something bad or whatever, go get him.

And sexism, by pointing out women receive considerably light sentences for the same crime as a man when all other factors are controlled for.

Pretty women even less so

Since you said they were enslaved, they didn’t move but were moved.

There’s a consensus by every person in the world that racism exists in America and everywhere else. You’re arguing a point no one is making.

Can you post proof of that?

Because white people like you keep telling them that poorer outcomes are inevitable and deny them any agency over their own lives. It’s why Biden can say the incredibly racist statement that if a black voter doesn’t vote for him, he isn’t black. Apparently white people need to teach blacks how to be black.

Who says it doesn’t exist?

Please provide names, quotes and/or videos.

Not just some nebulous finger pointing.

Exactly. He is deviating from the original intent of the thread as he spirals out of thought. The whole thread is why don’t conservatives care more. We’ve answered that.

Even the original premise is screwed up. I know plenty of conservatives irl, and none of them have or would deny that racism is a thing.

Its just nonsensical finger pointing. Thats why I told him early on that the conversation goes no further until he does some learning about the origin and function of the Klan.

I’m not a right winger, maybe more of a 90s liberal (I guess that would make me a conservative by todays’s standard, I can’t even tell anymore), but I think one should factor in what is today considered to be ā€˜ā€˜Black culture’’ in 'Merica, aka, being a ā€˜ā€˜gangsta’’.

Maybe I’m cray, but it seems to me that being a thug is still somewhat glorified by the black community and claimed as part of their culture.

Even Chappelle, whose comedy I (still) love (even though I’m burnt out on racial comedy) is sometimes like ā€˜ā€˜hey, look at that white guy in the audience, GIMME YOUR MONEY, BITCH’’.

Now, I know that’s comedy and all, but it’s a stereotype perpetuated by many blacks (and I know many of them are against being portrayed in such fashion by their own, and rightly so).

I mean, no shit people will be weary of this kind of people. No shit the po-lice will be suspicious of people who look like this:

or this:

But also this:

I bet you’ll see things shifting for the best when black culture stops gloryfying criminal lifestyles and celebrating more people like this:

It’s something I noticed, but I could be wrong. I don’t mind being wrong.

I dunno.
I was in denial at first, but realized it was an issue and took it down.

Let’s hope right wingers in the West can do the same regarding racism.
