I was asked, in a job interview, about how I felt about working with minorities. I told them that I grew up (in this city), had played football into college, played basketball and sprinted and jumped in high school track, and boxed. I said I had been a minority my whole life, and that was it for the questioning on that.

I come from an ethnic minority in the old world and escaped as rdfugees when i was a child. We settled in England. Then spent a decade all over Europe. Ive been to the US too though we didnt stay.
Id say the US is better on a personal level than Europe. But the way the state has created inequality in the past has assured the plight of natuves and black descendants of slavery today.
I actually find Americans much nicer than the stereotype and brits much ruder than theirs. When i was young we went over to live there with my Dad. We lived in a predominantly black area and the way i saw police interact with black people reminded me of my memories as a young child of policd harassing my mother and brothers in the street and freightening them.
I thibk due to my experiences as a boy the way i see black people treated in the west resonates with me very strongly. And my experiences in the west being otherised treated like shit despite being white which steered me to a path of prison and gangsterism. Makes me understand why the black community in the west is the way it is.

Poverty is a poor excuse for violent crime. Wealthy people commit crimes as well, and not just white collar crime but violent crime. Middle class whites commit violent crime. It’s not the criminality that should be talked about but rather the pervasiveness of it. In short, blacks do not commit a high amount of violent crime because of poverty but because of values, or a lack thereof. Money won’t cure poor parenting. Has free shit from the government solved anything? People in the inner cities have low cost to free housing. Free food. Free cash. Free phones. Etc. Real poor people have dirty water, if they have water at all, get their food from garbage dumps, and sleep on dirt floors.

In South Africa white Settlers still control almost the entire economy, own almost all the fertile land and own almost all the property. Apartheid ending just put a black face on the same power structure. Mandela is widely disliked by Black Africans for basically allowing the colonizers to keep everything.
White South Africans have a right to live there, they were born there. But the wealth they have is a direct result of colonization and stolen land. They need to relinquish that stolen wealth. Nazis had to give the gold and paintings back to the jews they stole it from after the war. They got death penalties for war crimes. The country was dismantled and controlled by the victors.
In south africa the bad guys got to keep everything, never spent a day in jail and still control the economy and over 80% of the land. White people don’t like acknowledging this because we all benefit from the colonial destruction of Africa which was used to extract resources to feed out industrialization while keeping the third world underdeveloped. And to acknowledge that south africas apartheid system needs dismantling would make us look at our own nations wealth accumulation and if we were honest wed say we all benefited from the rape and pillaging of Africa, India and the new world and its why we have the comfort we do now compared to the rest of the world.
