Sorry guy,
But as far as being significantly overweight once, your body will not function like the usual. Your Basal Metabolic Rate is lowered and your ability to use nutrients properly is at a disadvantage. Not to mention that if you do eat like a “HARD GAINER”, or even just a good hearty diet. We’ll suffer some fat gain. It’s the swing of things, it sucks, but that’s life. So as far as putting on muscle, it will take us longer then usual as we need to be more careful than most others.
BUT there are ways to fix metabolic syndromes and damage created from once being significantly overweight. That is to properly cut down to a low bodyfat, im talking sub 7%. Keeping a good amount of lean healthy muscle and maintaining that for a while. Then you can slowly begin to introduce carbohydrates back into your system as your body will be more able to handle them efficiently.
Once all is said and done, things can look up.
Other then that, eat clean, eat enough for your goals and bodytype and work hard! Goodluck
I hope no one believes this. You do NOT know how his metabolism is running unless you know exactly what his activity level was like when he was fat compared to what it is now. MOST of these guys are logging in lately claiming to have been fat and the main reason for that was lack of activity, not some abnormally low metabolic rate.
It is ridiculous to make huge assumptions about someone’s current rate of metabolism based ONLY on the fact that they used to be heavier.
Ok man, first off that diet looks like my wifes diet when she is trying to lose weight. You are really not that fat at all and you only weight 167lb, f’ing eat until you want to vomit and then eat some more. Just dont eat complete sh*t all of the time. And not to be a dick but what made you think that you were ready for DC training at 167lbs? Go with a traditional body split until you weigh 250 then try DC.

I totally agree, I did assume and didn’t word my post properly.
If you gain fat easily, you probably lose it pretty quick too.
What you should really try is upping the carbs pre, peri and post workout. Buy a good bulk carb source (waxi maize starch, dextrose, maltodextrin) and add like 100-200g during this time frame.
I doubt this will cause you to gain fat, and will take advantage of a vital window where your body is primed for carb intake.
Not sure where you live but winter is coming soon… time to bulk.

Cool idea start a “turn me into a monster thread” where you get peoples pics and pimp them into monsters.
haha.
you lift weights like a GIRL!!!
booyah
Problems, from what i see:
As Alwyn Cosgrove would tell ya, steady-state cardio does shit for fat burning. And as Vince Gironda would say, steady-state cardio puts your body in a state of tonic aka no hypertrophy. Drop the cardio and the complexes. i know ur an FFB, but worry about that AFTER the muscle gain.
If someone has average (or below as you may well have) genetics for getting a beautiful body it may not be POSSIBLE to get the type of body you want (which will be unpopular here i suspect).
For example, sometimes a person is simply not able to achieve a certain look, let alone in a few short years.
Let me put it like this - training to achieve a beautiful body takes a considerable amount of time - those who are in great shape in just 2-5 years tend to have the genetics to look like that anyway (low fat, wide shoulders, slim waist etc.)
You have not only be training just 4-5 years, but at least half of that will have been learning HOW to train effectively, and you are likely only just learning your body now.
When i say to people ‘it takes years’ they think 1 or 2 years…! Nope. I mean if you train for aesthetics, it is something you do forever, with the kind of results most really fantasise about taking a good 10, 15 or more years for most.
IMO.
As for advice, i would look to diet - that IS the key for you. As a FFB (you, not me) you sadly have to eat cleaner than most - with carb control being a lifetime fact if you want ‘abs’ etc… (no, not carb cutoffs a-la DC).
As for doing DC for 6 weeks… well if you really expect changes of that magnitude in 6 weeks then you have not been training long enough anyway.
Deliverance, the fact that you started this thread, is the reason why you are not huge or don’t have the results you want…figure out what I mean by that. It’s not meant to be condescending or rude. It’s the truth.

Is this real?
Why are newbs using DC?
Why do people who weigh under 170lbs think they should look like “monsters”?
OP guys like us @ 5"11 need to be pushing 200 + . Or be a reeeeal lean 190.
Get your numbers and size up for a few more years then come back to dc if you wish. I don’t think you can muster up the intensity to squeeze all that you’re suppose to from DC right now.
Good post Brook, I always like how you cut to the chase and don’t sugar coat it.
BTW Carlito’s, I facebook stalked you yesterday (no, I’m not ashamed) , and your gf is FINE AS HELL internet-highfive
OP, you’re only 19, and for the last few years, your body’s been hard at work getting you to grow taller. Most guys fill out in their early twenties. Next five, ten years are great years for putting on weight: you’ve got the T, you’re doing the lifting, and now you just need more food. Try keeping a food log. Really. It’s a bitch of a bore but it’ll give you some real numbers to work with.
Thanx everybody that posted shit that seriously helped me. From what ive gathered I just need to eat more. But, why do u have to be so advance to do DC?

because you don’t learn how to drive in a formula 500 car.
and you don’t learn how to shoot with a .50cal sniper rifle
Oh, thanx. Again i guess cause of my numbers i thought i wasn’t still in the learning stage

In every field advanced people are still learning. With learning your current thought process will also change, in an ideal world. You’ll have to change that thought process on your own if you want to make some progress. Your whole concept of your own body is very flawed…
Just go back to basic, which means no DC or any other fancy schmancy program to rely on. Up your calories and take it from there. And start thinking with your brains instead of your fears.
Hmmmm. that makes a lotta sense
Eat: 4000 calories a day
Eat: 400g of protein a day
Eat: I don’t care what % fat or carb you have BUT if fat is high, carbs must be low and vice versa.
Train:
Monday: Chest/Back
Tuesday: Legs
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Chest/Back
Friday: Legs
Saturday: Shoulders/Arms
Week 1-2: 3x15
Week 3-4: 4x10
Week 5-6: 5x5
Change exercises and repeat. Nothing fancy, just lift dammit!

He’d make more progress if he stuck with certain rep ranges and got stronger and stronger with them, as opposed to constantly switching them up so drastically like that.
