Why Doesn't God Communicate With Us Anymore?

This is the typical atheist play. Right, you’re an agnostic, I know, but you’re still using the atheist attack play book. Anyway, it’s the same old, same old. The implication is that Jesus Christ never said he was God it was others who attributed this to him. All you have to do is pick up a NT and read it BEFORE you attack it. Then you could answer your own question as to where Jesus Christ states that he IS God. After all you can sit right here on T Nation all day and ask questions about the Bible. But if you read it you would know the answers. And this is what I encouraged you to do on another thread if you recall. I don’t think you liked my advice much if I remember correctly.

I sure hope this helps you on your journey toward truth and understanding.

LOL if you ever stop this, you might just need to state your position at some point. If you do not want to reference the scriptures where Jesus himself proclaims himself God, then don’t. I do believe your playbook deserves a thread. I’m sure there are others that have been subjected to your ridiculous conduct.

Is this God’s plan? For you to disrupt a dialogue where people are asking questions and others are offering answers and sharing their faith? Do you strip naked and run wild at your church while your pastor gives his sermon too? I wonder how many people you pushed away from your faith in the last few days. “God’s work” indeed. ZEB’s boorish behavior certainly.

Because the rabid far left has no patience for anything other than their politically correct agenda. Many of them, if they could get away with it, would in fact try to silence those of us who believe in God just about any way possible.

But none of this is a surprise to me as the Bible predicts that this will occur. In fact, they are acting this way right on cue.

Because the rabid far right has no patience for anything that does not comport lock-step with their religious agenda (you must be saved, you’re damned, etc.). Yes, how does it feel to be part of God’s plan when you so question his existence?

The only part about this that is actually productive is that YOU have to act like a functioning human being and not your usual psychopathic self. And why? Because I keep accusing you of being a fraud and now you’re determined to show that you’re not. I do enjoy reading your posts to the other Christians as of late:

Credit to therajraj for putting this up on the GAL forum.

Just when I thought I was done with this thread, it’s like “God” brought this to my attention. There REALLY IS A GOD!!! LOL (watch the vid - I’m just imitating her)

Basically, this woman is praising God for the earthquake that just hit Japan. For “bringing the Atheists to their knees”. Thousands of men women and children are dead, and our “good ole’ Christians” are saying it’s a good thing.

I have TWO observations:
The first is that this woman is attributing the earthquake to God and is implying that it is a direct result of her prayers. This is similar to the claims of miracles that have been presented as fact in the scriptures. TBH, this one doesn’t bother me that much. I couldn’t care less what this woman believes in her own delusional mind.

The second is what I have a problem with: She is REJOICING at the death of other people! Now I’m sure you guys will say, “well she’s not a real Christian”. Well guess what? She and a significant percentage of “not real Christians” are going around and giving the rest of you a bad name. Kinda like the Jihad Muslim guys. A few people blow shit up and it fucks it up for the rest of them. HOWEVER, unlike the MODERATE Muslims who actively CONDEMN that behavior, Christians are SILENT when people who “call themselves Christian” start talking that kind of nonsense.

Oh, and one more thing to save myself from another post: When I asked about when the New Testament went into effect, and you guys said “when Jesus died on the cross” (or thereabouts) I became a little confused… ALL of the atrocities I listed earlier happened AFTER Jesus died on the cross… Did some people not get the memo? I mean it’s one thing to SAY “the new testament says NOTHING about hurting or killing other people”, but when you have people and clergy ACTING out the way they have when they are supposed to be following the new testament, do you think there MIGHT be a problem? But no one wants to take RESPONSIBILITY. It’s the old,“They were acting out of SIN”, or, “they were corrupting the word of god”, or "that was the Catholics (or whichever “branch” you want to point the finger at) whatever excuse you give, it doesn’t CHANGE the fact that MILLIONS of people were unjustly persecuted in the name of Christianity.

Here’s an analogy: Most of the Muslim world HATES America, right? We have invaded their countries, supported Israel, used our foreign policy to pretty much fuck with whoever we please over there right? So one could make the argument that the FOUNDING FATHERS would have NEVER supported such actions and they are in direct contradiction to everything America was founded on! So DON’T hate America! That’s not what we REALLY believe! Meanwhile it’s STILL American bombs dropping in their country, killing people that WE have labeled “terrorists”… Do you see my point?

These “people who call themselves Christians” who do evil things in the name of Christ ARE for all intents and purposes to the REST of the world… CHRISTIANS. Why? Because you fail to police yourselves.

When I was in prison there were gangs. Sometimes people would “borrow the power” of a gang to get what they wanted EVEN IF they weren’t a member of that gang… Some people are too stupid to know the difference. So whenever it came to a gang leader’s attention that someone OUTSIDE of the gang was essentially, “stealing some status”, that person would get shanked as if he owed someone a thousand dollars! They made an EXAMPLE out of them! It was clear that they didn’t condone whatever end was being sought. Everyone knew it. You Christians should consider something similar when people misrepresent your religion. Or at least denounce it publicly. Otherwise the rest of us think that ALL of you agree with what that idiot is saying.

Or DO you all think that Japan deserved to be hit with an earthquake and that God caused it to kill Atheists?

Here is an article about Japan and an Apparition of the Virgin Mary:

“Japanese quake’s epicenter located near Marian apparition site”

Niigata, Japan, Mar 12, 2011 / 07:17 am (CNA).- The epicenter of the earthquake that caused a deadly March 11 tsunami is located near the site of an apparition in which Mary warned about a worldwide disaster that could afflict humanity.

Japanese church officials have confirmed that the Diocese of Sendai, in the north of the country, was hit hardest by the 8.8 magnitude earthquake â?? the worst in Japanese history â?? and the resulting 23-foot waves.

Hundreds of people have already been confirmed dead in the city of Sendai, located less than 90 miles away from the apparition site of Our Lady of Akita in the town of Yuzawa.

The city of Akita, which experienced fire damage and flooding along with many parts of northern Japan, is a place of veneration for Catholics.

In 1973, the Virgin Mary was said to have predicted a number of future events â?? including natural disasters even more serious than Friday’s earthquake and tsunami â?? during three appearances to a Japanese religious sister, Sr. Agnes Sasagawa.

The purported appearances of the Virgin Mary in Japan were reviewed by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger in 1988. During his time as Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith prior to his election as Pope Benedict XVI, he let stand the local bishopâ??s judgment that the apparitions and the messages were acceptable for the faithful.

The messages warned of chaos within the Church, and disasters which could afflict the world.

â??If men do not repent and better themselves, God the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity,â?? Mary reportedly told Sr. Agnes. â??If will be a punishment greater than the (biblical) flood, such as never seen before.â??

â??Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful,â?? she said. â??The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church, in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops.â??

â??Churches and altars will be sacked. The Church will be full of those who accept compromises, and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.â??

â??Each day, recite the prayers of the Rosary,â?? she told Sr. Agnes. â??With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests.â??

Two years after the last message, the statue of the Virgin Mary in the chapel where the apparitions had occurred began to emit tears and drops of blood. The occurrence continued for more than six years.

Reports from Akita following Friday’s earthquake indicate that the city received significantly less damage than other parts of northern Japan, despite its proximity to the epicenter. However, residents did report power outages, burst pipes, and fires.

Bishop Tarcisio Isao Kikuchi of Niigata, whose territory includes the Akita apparition site, is also the president of Caritas Japan, which will be working to assist victims of the earthquake and tsunami. The relief organization is accepting contributions to its emergency fund at www.caritas.org.

Anyway, need to take care of those in Japan instead of pointing fingers. Remember charity, Charity is the theological virtue by which we love God above all things for his own sake, and our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God.

I imagine that you view much that you read as obfuscation, since you understand very little of what you read. It must all seem confusing and ambiguous to you. I don’t have a point? The entire simplistic message just went right over your big block head? Okay, I’ll restate it right here for you. Ready? READ THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELF BEFORE YOU ATTACK IT. D O Y O U U N D E R S T A N D? LOL wow…
You think you’re using me,
Oh I don’t think I’m using you, I know that I’m using you. And why am I using you? Two main reasons: First, as long as I keep this up you must actually behave like a normal human being to the other posters, and that means every thread! And secondly, it’s fun watching you blow your top. I never liked bully’s and was always the guy to stick up for someone who was getting picked on. After reading 3 or 4 of your other posts unrelated to this thread it’s obvious that you’re a bully. So now you’re getting yours bully while I get entertained. See we both win, okay well one of us wins and taht would be me.

No wait, that was YOUR game, you started that nonsense. When I checked around the site for your old posts I hit gold immediately. Everything that I thought about you was instantly verified. Old posts show your true character.

No, I’m not ignoring it. I’ve pointed it out. You live on the sex threads and other areas. Remember how I pointed out your class on how to make good home porn? Yeah, I gave you credit man! Know why? Because when it comes to porn YOU DA MAN! LOL — But you see over here you’re just another dull witted idiot. No girls to intimidate, your bully threats mean nothing. You must really feel home sick huh?

Oh that is a classic line. I’d like every one (who is still left reading this nonsense) to read that one. They ALL deserved it. I see. You could not have been wrong, or overbearing it was that they just flat out deserved it. Gothya!

Well then I must have caught them both right away because neither was very happy when you got done with them. Did you feel like a big man? Calling the women names and carrying on like you did? Your son must be so proud of you. Do you share your online life with him? Ah it matters not anyone as sick as you acts this way in their private life as well. As soon as he’s old enough he’ll probably do what your wife did. GONE!

I know you’re blinded with hate and rage right now, but keep in mind what I’ve already told you. I will respond in kind. Simple message that even you can understand.

First of all the thread can proceed, I’m not stopping it. If other Christians want to treat you as a normal human being that’s fine with me. And the fact that I’m calling you out as the fraud you are helps that end. But I’ve already explained that one to you. You will continue to act like a gentlman as long as someone makes you.

Like this post to an another poster:
TheBodyGuard wrote:
I appreciate our sincerity but your reply is decidedly with a pro-Christian slant. I happen to find the following claims and arguments credible
It’s that kind of post that I never received when we were debating earlier. You’ve toned it down quite a lot and it’s because of what we’re doing right now. You have to make others think that you’re the reasonable one and how can you do that if you act like your normal self.

You are not that tough to figure out, Internet bully’s never are.
You’re the only psychopath here (Character Assassination).
But you NEVER attack me right?

Oh I don’t know I have pretty nice legs for a guy.

Disrespectful? Odd word to use. You could have stated that a number of ways. I’ll let you think about that one. Anyway, that is scary - Full force? Are you sure you want to use full force? Well you better be careful mister someone could lose an eye. LOL you goof.

By the way I think Cortes pretty much told you off and I didn’t see any “full force” in return Know why? You have to be on your best behavior because I called you out!

I know you spend most of your time over on the sex threads and other areas where you can play the big man. But here’s a clue for you, not one person’s mind is ever changed toward God because of something posted in a “God Thread” on T Nation. Are you that self-delusional? If there were no Internet would be talking to yourself on a park bench?

“I hit em man…I hit em right in the nose…I said I’m from Jeresy and he met me and I hit em cause I’m tough.”

Idiot (shaking head)

I will NOT answer anymore in this thread because I refuse to explain things to people which walk around in the dark and choose that route.

Tell me where the complex eye comes from, without making huge leaps and bounds. We have a lamprey then some animals have different eyes like the sharks and other predators. Certain species of animals like many raptors can perceive great distances and then other species see worse than we do. And how many genetically related animals follow an obvious evolution to the equivalent higher and more evolved species. So because we ‘evolved’ from apes tell me the number of different base pairs we have from the orangutan? And it makes logical sense that number evolved in one quick transition with no obvious line of fossils to back the claim? Finally, how many animals ANY species walk vertically and have our complex structure of knees with the complex network of tendons, muscle points and blood vessels with the nerves that impregnate the entire structure? One species is all I ask for.

I’ll try to keep this as concise and clean as possible:
How do primates teach their young? Then how do we train our best friends, the canine? Now realize how we interact with our children. We train infants and the canine much the same way until the child grows and develops. However primates do NOT. Why do you suppose that is?

If these points are not clear then I apologize. If you do not have a clear answer with every single point, could it be that science will never be able to prove the gap and leap you must make. In fact to think we evolved from apes, that takes leaps and bounds of its own. That takes blind faith. Why not see the obvious truth. God is the answer IMHO. Look for the truth from a logical sense.
Biological Evolution is known beyond any doubt to exist in the natural world. Drug-resistant strains of viral pathogens are directly and unequivocally the product of evolutionary change. This is not theory; it is fact.

Why would we assume that such change is exclusive to harmful pathogens?

Humans and chimpanzees share between 95 and 99 percent of their DNA. Why would differences in “the way they teach their young” make it unbelievable that the two are ancestrally related? The whole point of evolution is that we CHANGE over time–change the way we think, change the way we raise children.

More important than these two points is that, in the scientific community, there is essentially universal agreement that the evidence for evolution is overwhelming. They are smarter than you and they certainly know more than you on the topic. When you get in an airplane, you implicitly express a high degree of trust that the scientific community that came up with the equations and theories that made aviation possible knew what the fuck they were doing. The biologists and chemists that support the theory of evolution simply know more about it than you do. And they say in one unified voice that the evidence for it is overwhelming. So fuck your skepticism.

But none of this really matters because this thread has nothing to do with evolution.
Humans also share something like 42% of their genetic code with E Coli. I’ve never seen a human that looks like an E Coli strain. Genetics don’t prove evolution like people think.

Be a Man of the Planet and not a whiner.

But then you have posts like pushharders response, where people demand that if you have a problem with oil, you never use a drop ever again or you’re a gigantic hypocrite.

Read pushharder’s other post which mentions the incredible amount of oil pumped without any accidents. Put things in perspective. Or be a Man of the Planet and mend your evil, oil consuming ways. "

Glad I could jog your memory, asshole.
You did indeed jog my memory. I honestly had completely forgotten that post. Touche.

Now tell me what was “childish” about that post and why it infuriated you so much.
The part where you completely ignored my point, made asinine “suggestions”, implied that I was being a ‘whiner’… not to mention restating the already juvenile accusation I addressed in the original post.

It infuriated me so much because, shortly before that, I had repeatedly suggested that you take things easy here and went out of my way to be respectful to you. Oh, and when I gave up trying to talk to you (because you were more interesting in being a prick than having any kind of discourse), you told me “Walk away, dont drive”. Yet another childish asshole barb thrown in for no reason other than to agitate.

That interaction between us made me realize that I could either try to be a boy scout and deal with that shit, or be just as bad.

I imagine that you view much that you read as obfuscation, since you understand very little of what you read. It must all seem confusing and ambiguous to you. I gave you the pass as NOT being an atheist. I guess you missed that while you were stroking your beard looking up at the stars and pondering deep, deep things. LMAO idiot!
Hold on, let me get out my ZEB Guidebook to Internet Arguments. Ok, I’m ready.

Character Assassination. Changing the Subject. Failure to State a Claim or Rebuttal. Since I understand so little, it should be exceedingly easy for you to rebut me, instead of attack me. The only intelligent answer is that you see me as a threat, and do not wish to engage me. We both know the end game; you’ll claim faith as I point out the holes in scripture. It’s a stalemate. If you had more, you’d offer it. But instead, you offer nothing. However, what you do accomplish is turning others off of Christianity. It is within your personal jihad against me that you are doing the “devil’s work” of your alleged faith.
ZEB wrote:

I don’t have a point? The entire simplistic message just went right over your big block head? Okay, I’ll restate it right here for you. Ready? READ THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELF BEFORE YOU ATTACK IT. D O Y O U U N D E R S T A N D? LOL wow…
Let me state it for you slowly for the 2nd time. I’ve. Read. The. Bible. I’ve also read scholarly interpretations of various scriptures. And I have not once in this thread “attacked” the Bible. I have questioned it. You sure are sensitive. If your faith is indeed so strong, why do you act so weak. That you claim that I “attacked the bible” is right out of your field manual. It’s called a LIE. And a non-sequitur; “Bodyguard questions the bible, bodyguard is attacking the bible”. You sir are the gate keeper of logic! BRAVO
ZEB wrote:

Oh I don’t think I’m using you, I know that I’m using you. And why am I using you? Two main reasons: First, as long as I keep this up you must actually behave like a normal human being to the other posters, and that means every thread! And secondly, it’s fun watching you blow your top. I never liked bully’s and was always the guy to stick up for someone who was getting picked on. After reading 3 or 4 of your other posts unrelated to this thread it’s obvious that you’re a bully. So now you’re getting yours bully while I get entertained. See we both win, okay well one of us wins and taht would be me.
Delusional. The other posters have been respectful. It’s that simple. You never liked bullies? Sounds like you were picked on. It makes a lot of sense in light of your internet behavior. You are a crusader for internet posters. Who exactly are you sticking up for? Over the internet? LOL Yeah ZEB, you’re “winning” just like Charlie Sheen. Attaboy.
ZEB wrote:
No wait, that was YOUR game, you started that nonsense. When I checked around the site for your old posts I hit gold immediately. Everything that I thought about you was instantly verified. Old posts show your true character.
Argument by Selective Observation. Association Fallacy. Non-sequitur.
ZEB wrote:

No, I’m not ignoring it. I’ve pointed it out. You live on the sex threads and other areas. Remember how I pointed out your class on how to make good home porn? Yeah, I gave you credit man! Know why? Because when it comes to porn YOU DA MAN! LOL — But you see over here you’re just another dull witted idiot. No girls to intimidate, your bully threats mean nothing. You must really feel home sick huh?
Non-sequitur, Changing the subject, Argument by Selective Observation, Association Fallacy, Ad Hominem. So far, you’ve managed to say nothing on topic. If you want to go off and defend Oleena by the way, have at it. She needs a knight.
ZEB wrote:

Oh that is a classic line. I’d like every one (who is still left reading this nonsense) to read that one. They ALL deserved it. I see. You could not have been wrong, or overbearing it was that they just flat out deserved it. Gothya!
Classic Fundamental Attribution Error, among the blurring of some others. The only nonsense here is related to your posts.
ZEB wrote:

Well then I must have caught them both right away because neither was very happy when you got done with them. Did you feel like a big man? Calling the women names and carrying on like you did? Your son must be so proud of you. Do you share your online life with him? Ah it matters not anyone as sick as you acts this way in their private life as well. As soon as he’s old enough he’ll probably do what your wife did. GONE!
I suggest you make a thread about it and let’s explore it. This thread happens to be entitled Why Doesn’t God Communicate with Us Anymore? In fact, the thread was borne of your curious statement which I quoted verbatim.
ZEB wrote:

I know you’re blinded with hate and rage right now, but keep in mind what I’ve already told you. I will respond in kind. Simple message that even you can understand.
Delusional. I’m no more troubled by you than I am the mosquito buzzing out of my reach. If I can swat him I will. But I won’t go chasing him in the darkness of the internet. ZEB, you’re a coward that has clearly gone off the deep end. Like I said, the old man in the driveway, shaking his fist at the passing car. You’re quite harmless lil guy.
ZEB wrote:

First of all the thread can proceed, I’m not stopping it. If other Christians want to treat you as a normal human being that’s fine with me. And the fact that I’m calling you out as the fraud you are helps that end. But I’ve already explained that one to you. You will continue to act like a gentlman as long as someone makes you.
You have stopped it. I just got a PM tonite inviting me to continue the dialogue in private. You have polluted this thread. You are internet pollution. No better than a spammer at this point.
ZEB wrote:

It’s that kind of post that I never received when we were debating earlier. You’ve toned it down quite a lot and it’s because of what we’re doing right now. You have to make others think that you’re the reasonable one and how can you do that if you act like your normal self.

You are not that tough to figure out, Internet bully’s never are.
He received a thoughtful response b/c he gave a thoughtful reply. You endlessly needle someone and nit pick in an attempt to make yourself appear superior. It’s quite transparent. And while you do this, you avoid having to make a claim, or make a substantive rebuttal. You’ll obfuscate by attacking a poor analogy for instance. You nit pick while avoiding the meat of the discussion. You’re a typical old fart with too much idle time on his hands ZEB. It’s the kind of post you never received because it was in reply to the kind of earnest and thoughtful reply you never made. And I don’t like you, so don’t hold your breath.
ZEB wrote:

But you NEVER attack me right?
Crybaby. I challenged you long ago and you cannot produce. Find THE post where I attacked you without ANY provocation by you. You needle, nit pick and belittle, and when you finally get a reaction you blame your target. You’re transparent.
ZEB wrote:

Oh I don’t know I have pretty nice legs for a guy.
Is that the gay thing you referred to previously. Jeez ZEB I know you Christians feel them there gays can be cured thru Christ, but do you have to make intolerant references to gays repeatedly? Tho protest too loudly!!!
ZEB wrote:

Disrespectful? Odd word to use. You could have stated that a number of ways. I’ll let you think about that one. Anyway, that is scary - Full force? Are you sure you want to use full force? Well you better be careful mister someone could lose an eye. LOL you goof.
Goof? So says the tireless nit picker.
ZEB wrote:

By the way I think Cortes pretty much told you off and I didn’t see any “full force” in return Know why? You have to be on your best behavior because I called you out!
LOL here’s that False Consensus thing you like so much again. Cortes was pretty tame and my reply was commensurate to his. His motivations are pretty transparent. Why should I prune a branch when I’m satisfied to chop at the trunk? Grow up ZEB and stand on your own two internet feet. There is no groundswell support for your opinions here.
ZEB wrote:

I know you spend most of your time over on the sex threads and other areas where you can play the big man. But here’s a clue for you, not one person’s mind is ever changed toward God because of something posted in a “God Thread” on T Nation. Are you that self-delusional? If there were no Internet would be taking to yourself on a park bench?
Association Fallacy. That aside, I don’t think anyone here is trying to change anyone’s mind. But there have been earnest questions. And you certainly did turn some people off from this thread and others entirely. If one person listened to Forbes (who has now exited the thread thanks to it’s tone) and reviewed his references and arguments, would that not be something positive and consistent with your faith? No, you’re not going to change my mind, but my mind is not closed either.
ZEB wrote:

“I hit em man…I hit em right in the nose…I said I’m from Jeresy and he met me and I hit em cause I’m tough.”

That’s kinda random. You’re obsessed with my “toughness”. It makes you look small and insecure. I promise not to “bully” you ZEB.
ZEB wrote:

I spend about a half-hour on T Nation each day. Whether I’m putting you in your place or in another thread that’s about it. Plenty of time for wife and family. Since you asked, how about you? Who is spending time with your wife since she has proven herself smart enough to leave you after you confessed to cheating on her multiple times?
Somehow I seriously doubt that claim of a half hour. In fact, I call bullshit. But facts have never gotten in your way in the past.

Still “putting me in (your) place” from the internet huh? Good for you old fella!

And again, I didn’t cheat on my wife. But don’t let the facts get in your way.

And nice of you to disrespect my full time care for my 5 year old son. Nice.
ZEB wrote:

Want to swap family stories, or in your case the lack of family stories? Lead the way I will always respond in kind remember that tough guy.
You’re obsessed with my toughness. Is there any possible way for two men that despise each other to work this out face to face? It would give you an opportunity to vanquish this “bully”. You could bring your camera and film it. Or are you just going to sit there, typing, like a secretary, blowing hot air?

No comment on my Marian Apparition. I am disappoint.

On par with Muslims celebrating after 9/11. Very sad. See what religion will do to some people?

Superstition and special effects aside, I am interested in the apparant ‘message’.
ALLEGEDLY, the V.M. wanted some converted souls to appease the Heavenly Father’s anger.
Sounds very OT and/or pagan to me. What happened?
Did they forget about the NT and the New Covenant?
Or is that part of Japan so backward that they haven’t received the Good News yet?
Perhaps God has become SO ‘afflicted’ that He decided to throw the NT out!
How does God become ‘afflicted’ anyway? The INCORRUPTABLE!

You can do what you want, but if I’m going to be a Christian, I sure as heck am going to side with the risen victorius Christ who has already won the battle.

Bottom line response is same as the prior post. Very sad.
See what religion will do to some people.

Hey there BodyGuard ole’ pal I’ve moved my response to your latest post over to our other thread, since that one is dead anyway. There is some good debate going on here (naturally it’s without you). I figured it would be rude to keep this up here out of respect to the other posters on both sides of the debate.
