Reminds me of a related pet peeve of mine, that being when people ask me for advice, then argue with me about what I say. Why did you ask me in the first place? These conversations often go like this:
Random guy: Hey, what do you think I should do for [bodypart]? Me: Do . Random guy: But [someone else] said I should do [y]. Me: Is [someone else] bigger than me?
At which point the convo goes one of two ways:
Random guy: No, you’re bigger. Me: Well then, you should probably listen to me.
or
Random guy: Yeah, he’s bigger than you. Me: Well then, you should probably listen to him.
Exactly… you would be a prime example of what I’m talking about. You have put in years without using any gear. But now that you do for some reason all the experience you have gained beforehand is no longer valid in others eyes.
Part of the issue I think is the backlash from a common trend that I feel you see now of days. Guys are quick to jump onto gear, Way before they even have learned how to do a proper squat. So many guys are like" well I got my gym membership, time to grab some gear." I have known guys that can give you a well-planned anabolic cycle but can’t write a decent training program to save their ass. Because in some cases guys are taking enough gear to band aid any possible flaws in what they might be doing. So, the need to really get a grasp of certain aspects of training can be over looked. Than you have guys coming to these individuals for advice and in some cases, it’s a FUCKING train wreck waiting to happen. Which feeds into this growing notion that anyone whom might be using gear are complete idiots in regards to training and that their advice should be ignored.
A bullshitter is one who knows they’re in the wrong and lies to get ahead. One who is mentally ill believes they’re right 100%, is doing nothing wrong, and truly believes they’re the best. The second is Blahino.
Yup. Sometimes I try to explain the actual effects of these drugs so that noobs will not think they are as magical as people claim and START USING THEM. It’s fucking common sense that this will happen. I give personal experience. I tell what I have observed among users I know personally over 2 decades. And I’m thrown a fucking STUDY and parroted quotes from internet writers who are NATTY. Plus anecdotes that beginners in gyms are blowing up into IFBB PRO proportions from a dbol cycle.
That’s reminds me regarding something I saw that made me post a rant on here two weeks regarding something similar.
Was on You Tube and was reading a comment regarding TRT and some idiot was just saying the dumbest shit. Idiot had to end his comment with Natty4life. Seriously, this guy was going full bore Natty militant. Well I clicked on Mr.Natty4life and watched a video he had posted of himself. I had to do everything in my power not to piss myself because of the hilarity of what I was seeing. Some shirtless guy, maybe early twenties if that maybe slightly under 6 foot and a whole 145-150lbs tops soaking wet. I watched in amazement as he squatted 130lbs for a few reps. But I have to thank the guy for giving great material to rant about.
I gotta imagine the “natty for life” thing is some sort of adolescent backlash upon finding out that some people DO use steroids. It’s easy to be naïve when you’re young and assume every public figure is on the up and up, and then you realize that gasp people who make their livlihoods with their bodies may be inclined to use drugs to enhance their performance. We noted someone earlier in the topic talking about how they felt deceived by this, and it ends up with this big self-righteous to do about steroids.
Some folks never outgrow it either, and just become sad old angry men.
Just a lot of angst. And sadly, angsty people are easy to appeal to.
If someone just took gear and did their thing I don’t think people would have an issue, the issue it the lying. They sell their training etc. on the basis it gave them their physique when the gear playd a very large part. Plus it sets an unreachable standard
The whole world is lying dude. Very very VERY few people will ever give you a real peek behind the curtain of success, because it isn’t a pretty narrative. It’s not unique to lifting and steroids.
