lol i dunno i think 20 inch arms at 5’8 is very possible natural, and if you dont think so sucks for you because thats probably what is keeping you from getting there
Yeah, about that. A_B has surpassed 19" and is knocking on the 20" door … but he is around 6’1".
But then again, you always hear taller people complaining that it’s harder to “fill out” their arms than shorter people…so I don’t know about the whole height thing being an argument
My brother’s 5’6 and has an inch over me on his arms (I’m 6 ft)

I’m 5’11", which I don’t think is tall, and creeping up on 19". What does that mean? No idea.

It means that you take it seriously, have your training in order and don’t have sucky genetics for arms
I’ve never really put that much emphasis on height tbh.
A little off topic but I remember a couple of my friends (weekend warriors) saying to one another that my brother was strong on the bench press because of his short arms…as if it’s got nothing to do with years of consistency and piling on the meat lol
I can’t list any natural body-builders with 20 inch arms at 5,5 - 5,10. I can however list exceptional ones with arms nowhere near: Rob Hope, Jim Cordova, Jeff Rodriguez…(Can go on). Does it get much better for a natural? Is so I don’t know them.
But then again they need to get there mind set right…and believe…stop holding themselves back
Your completely underestimating the amount of overall size between 15-25% and single digit. How can you expect to drop that much fat and lose only an inch? Cutting from “chubby” (your word not mine) 20 inch arms to ripped, will leave you nowhere near 19.

so what if you get 21 inch “burger king” arms then you cut down and you still have 20+ inch arms?
you guys get so worked up about thick arms as if it makes it fucking easy.
lol i got 18 1/4 inch arms yeah im chubby but when i reach 20’s and i cut down to my usual self wont i still have atleast a 19 inch arm?
so ridiculous.
maybe i just respond well to arm workouts because 2 more inches just doesnt sound that impossible to me?
ill worry about being skinny when i got 20 inch arms.
otherwise who cares about being skinny?
I agree that getting soft to some degree is great for optimal muscle growth…but there is a cut off point.
It depends how soft you go. For most, going far past 15% bodyfat doesn’t do your hormone balance any good. Past a certain point of bodyfat, your body’s gaining ratios (muscle/fat) get really bad and you get to a point where it’s like all you’re gaining is fat.
So yeah, you can get to a reasonably ‘soft’ 20" arms, but it’s gonna many bulk/trimming cycles to get there (wouldn’t be able to do it all in one go without “burger king” arms).
Going from 15" to 18" arms is something and usually quite straight forward, but from 18"-20" is going to take FAR longer and gains won’t be as lean.
evan though i am still small (188 @ 10% sqt 220,dl 320) by t nation standards i dont really feel small until i start seeing n reading some of you bigger boys stats but thats because i started at about 120/125 squatin about 50/60 lbs wtf.

Yeah, it’s called life, and its unfair. Then you try to justify it, and say its cause you’re not that heavy or that big yet, and someone posts a 500lbs deadlift at 170lbs or something ridiculous. Then you realise that you need to man the fuck up and put in some serious effort and a lot of years! Dont worry, I’m in the same boat.
